We were travelling west on 90 and decided to do some adventure eating in a small town we've never experienced. Of course Trip Advisor directed us to a couple of intersting places and Kats seemed the most interesting so we popped in. Located in a storefront near the theater, the restaurant is bright and clean and has interesting decor including some cool photography and posters (I like the Mr Natural posters in the mens room) that connect to the pork theme and the rural area. The booths and light fixtures are all pine that look like they were custom for the space and give it a nice clean rustic feel. The staff is very attentive and friendly. There is a small bar in back (maybe 6 stools?) and it appears they are a coffee shop in the morning. Of course the food is the main thing and we were delighted to find that it is as good as the hospitality and service we experienced. I tried the Hog Dog Jr which is a deep fried polish dog served with two slices of bacon, a scoop of pulled pork and a dollop of slaw on a hot dog bun. It was just too weird to pass up and it was delicious! The crisp skin of the dog and the great taste of the meat combined with the bacon and slaw were wonderful...I will confess I didn't love the pork bbq...it was sauced and mushy and I prefer to have the pure smoked meat and add the sauce myself...but that's a small point. I added fries as a side and they were thin and crispy and way too plentiful. My wife ordered the BLT...she loves them...and she loved this one. She remarked that the bread was "yummy" and the bacon was thick and tasty. She did sweet potatoe fries for side and asked for them extra crispy which they delivered on to a "t". WIne and beer are available along with soft drinks, etc. The owner stopped by our table twice and introduced himself and and sure we were enjoying ourselves and our waiter was also very friendly and welcomed us to Jackson as a life long resident. Very hospitable. I will definitely find my way back if I get back to this part of the country again.

Ordered Belgium waffle & not only was it not a Belgium waffle, I was served three toaster waffles. They were barely warm & tasted like imitation Eggoâs. Extremely disappointed. Fruit cup was canned pineapple & mandarin oranges with some bananas & grapes. Not appetizing at all. Probably wonât stop again.

We like the food and casual atmosphere of the restaurant.It was spacious and open. We had burgers and they were great. There were quite a few other patrons but there was plenty of help and the food came quickly. The building looked like an old department store with high ceilings and big windows. The bar that was added looked nice. We'd definitely go here again. Thanks for the amazing review and for stopping! See you next visit!

I like Subways but will not eat at this one. Have given them 3 tries and all were unpleasant experiences. Skimpy with ingredients but service is the deal-breaker here. Attitude of employees was incredibly bad - obviously did not want to be working there, did not care if I was a satisfied customer or not. On one visit I ordered the posted special Sub-of-the-month but when paying was charged regular price. When I questioned the price & pointed out the posted special I was told that was from 2 months prior and it was currently full price, too bad, pay up.
