Go some place else. The best item was the salad bar. Food over priced for serving size and service was not the best. Mac and cheese was out of the box , maybe store brand, and shrimp and chicken fried steak were over cooked and shriveled.

I stopped at Mikeskaâs on my way from the West Coast to Houston, because 20 years it was a guaranteed stop for my family whenever we were heading down I-10 between Houston and San Antonio. Got here at at high noon, worrying about whether Iâd be able to park, since the place was always crowded. Other than locals,Mikeska's was always a favourite for truckers. But not that Sunday: the parking lot only had two or three cars in it, and nary a big-rig in the parking lot, not even a pick-up. Almost 100% deserted. I wondered whether it was even open: Inside, there were only two diners at high noon: an elderly couple. With trepidation I went to the counter and ordered up a sandwich. It wasnât atrocious, it wasnât even bad; but it wasnât very good, let alone excellent. The BBQ was, well, average. Had I walked in knowing nothing about Mikeskaâs I probably would have been thinking ânot bad, not bad.â Instead I walked out thinking: âWhat happened? This used to be a Mecca! A magnet for BBQ aficionados from a hundred miles away!â Quite a let-down, but still better than a fast-food burger joint. p.s. After completing this, TA asked me whether this is a restaurant where you pay prior to receiving your order. I answered not sure. Basically, you get it and pay for it simultaneously, and then carry the tray to a table. Whether I paid first or got the tray first is kind of irrelevant. Either way, you pay before you eat.

What a great place for lunch. It is like a step back in time. Super friendly staff Food was amazing. Homemade chicken and dumplings and the best chicken salad served on Texas Toast was delicious. Try the Mac and Cheese--- really good. Coconut Cream pie was good. a little too sweet but good. Overall a great spot if you are in Columbus.
Getting off the interstate we were looking for a quick bite. We generally like Subways especially when traveling as the food is pretty consistent between franchises. This one was no different. Good but not great food.we were lucky to get our sandwiches. There was only one person in the store, and by the time we were done eating, there must have been 25 people in line, most of which were a little perturbed at the wait.
