Feel Lucky to Have Experienced Cristalino
Reviewed By Wendy TWe were lucky enough to recently visit Cristalino for 4 days. It is a trek to get there-from Rio we took two flights, an hour drive over bumpy roads and then a half an hour boat ride but that is part of the charm of the lodge and what makes it even more special. We loved everything about our stay. We stayed in a roomy well appointed bungalow with lots of windows to enjoy nature even from our room-in fact we had our closest sighting of a toucan from our bed! And our guide Jessica was phenomenal. She is incredibly knowledgable, attentive and kind. She has a Master's degree in Biology so she knows her stuff. We felt very lucky to have her as our guide. We did kayaking, walks, boat rides and climbed the observation tower (I was nervous but once I got to the top so appreciated that I "did it" and got to have the unique experience of seeing the rainforest from above. The rest of the staff was also wonderful including our boat man and the bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff. I highly recommend experiencing this unique and incredibly beautiful place.

The Lodge Jaguar Ecological Reserve has been improving its activities more and more. we have new apartments all suite, air conditioning and hot bath and specialist in observation of Jaguar and other animals of the Pantanal

Reviewed By Rees1970I stayed 3 Days + 4 Nights here in the Jaguar Ecological Reserve. Eduardo, the Owner and Founder is a fabulous Host. After 10-12 hours safari days in the pantanal with phenomenal Wildlife Sightings and unforgettable moments deep in the wilderness we had wonderful chats. Eduardos Knowledge about the pantanal, the big cats like Jaguar or pumas, but also about Birdlife and the complete wildlife spectrum here in this areal is brilliant.

Enjoy your time in this charming lodge where friendly staff insures your stay is a very special andu nique experience. Twenty two rooms interspersed in a natural Garden setting provide both privacy and confort. All rooms are air-conditioned and have private porches, bathrooms and mini-bars. The Pousada’s facilities include a restaurant with a wide choice of regional dishes, swimming pool with bar, hot tub, Reading room and TV salon.

Reviewed By Rebecca MWe truly enjoyed this unique experience. Everyone was attentive and accommodating. You truly sit amongst nature and we found it to be amazing. Zaine was our guide and made our trip very memorable. She was one of the few people that could speak English...it would have been very difficult without her expertise. She taught us so much about Pantanal, Brazilian culture and the local area. It is a very relaxed environment. We stayed over NYE and dinner was served at 11 pm. This was not ideal as we were quite hungry and tired at dinner time.

Standards have dropped
Reviewed By SaoPauloGringoI’m here at the Malai right now. How standards have dropped in a short time. The quality and variety of the food has dropped. The staff are very quick to not be helpful. The redeeming feature in winter of this resort is the large heated pool. Which is really cold. And every time over 3 days that we report that the pool is cold, the staff deny even knowing about it. It seems the staff are trained to deny and lie and not be helpful beyond “please call the reservation phone line with your comments”

Brilliant Pantanal experience at Araras lodge
Reviewed By OWWeijerExcellent lodge with good rooms and food. But, more importantly, very good activities and guides (we had Tony and Carlos for the jaguar express). Jaguar express is pretty expensive, but totally worth it. Horseback riding in the swamp, canoeing with the caimans and the trekkings are highly recommended as well.
