Reviews on Wine Bar food in Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, Romania. Cluj-Napoca is the unofficial capital of Transylvania, and though you (probably) won’t find vampires here, you can explore castles, fortresses, botanical gardens, museums and parks. Cluj-Napoca has a vibrant arts scene that embraces both the traditional and the progressive. There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy classical concerts, theatrical performances, puppet shows and music of every genre, from jazz to modern pop to electronica.

This is definitely a hidden gem in Cluj. Albeit situated in a great location in the city centre, you can only enter it with prior reservation and based on their weekly passwords:) The decor is impressive, lots of paintings, jewelry and the great atmosphere is completed by jazzy music, pale lights and candles. They have quite a lot of wines, cheese platters (that are served with delicious jams and grapes-on the house). Staff is very helpful even with non-connoisseurs. All in all, it was a great evening therefore I strongly recommend the place for a special evening.

Finally got a chance to visit this restaurant, from the moment we walked in we were greeted by the staff and manager with a welcoming smile. The place looks amazing, the decor is just wonderful. Service is really high quality and attentive. Food is unbelievable and wine selection is by far the best in town. Price is just fair for a great place like this. Thanks for a great experience and canât wait to go back. My new favourite restaurant in Cluj.

If youâre in the mood for an off the beaten track Italian restaurant, this is a chance not to miss.Hidden behind the courthouse, yet only a hundred yards from the National Theatre, this is the most laid-back, friendly restaurant Iâve experienced in Cluj.Their menu is quite big, accommodating almost all tastes in international cuisine, but I recommend the Italian courses. I must have been there over a dozen times and each dinner has been a delight. The setting is simple, cosy and âhomyâ but as the old, carefully-renovated cellar is rather small, you may want to book in advance. One of the highlights at Osteria is, of course, the wine: their own, professional sommelier carefully sources wines from Romania but also Italy, France, South America. The wine list is impressive, so if youâre confused by the wide choice, just ask for a recommendation and youâll get the best match to your food.

The bar is excellent by design. It has a wide range of local and imported wines. The food is also pretty good for a bar. Order the beef steak. The only probably part missing is the ambiance which may have not been there when I visited as it coincided with the protests. Else, I would recommend this bar if you are looking for good wine place or a romantic date. Apparently for this bar on friday/saturday is best to book in advance.A little note for the bar, while the beef is very good probably it needs to be served in a flat plate.
