Quoc Thai Asian fusion type restaurant falls into fast food category (Schnell restaurant or Imbiss). But there arenât too many Asian restaurants in Offenburg and therefore this is the place go to if you want Thai-type food. It is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at night. The prices are very affordable. Nothing goes over 9 euros. Those higher prices are for duck dishes or the food that comes on a sizzling iron plate. For such a small fast-food restaurant, the place has a good size menu. I think the taste varies according to what you order. We ordered chicken curry and lamb curry, both spicy. But, in reality they were not that spicy probably because they tried to balance spice with sugar. Both were too creamy, but I have had better food at this restaurant once before. So, I would not say that all dishes are like that.Positive things about the place: Cannot complain about the prices. You can check the website for the prices before going there. Appetizers are around 2.50 euros, soups around 6.50 euros, vegetarian dishes 4-5 euros, Vietnamese specialties are bit up, around 9 euros. There are also baked fruit (banana apple, pineapple) with honey as dessert. You get your food very fast, and it is tasty, for the most partNegative things: Since it is a little room when you come out of it, you smell like you came from their kitchen. The smell sticks to your clothes. (Of course, it is ok, if you can sit outside). The other thing that really turned me off was how unfriendly the staff was. The woman who took our orders had a frown on her face as if she was doing us a favor by giving charity food. No one seemed to smile behind the counter. Only when we left they said, "good bye", "have a nice day". But, it almost felt like a "Get lostâ!

We had the fish with rice noodles which was very delicious. The creamy coconut sauce and the rock salt really complimented each other. The sushi rice was abit dry and too tightly packed. The filling:rice ratio can be improved too. I think better have the vietnamese food, will not dissapoint

In the city of Offenburg there arenât too many Asian restaurants within walking distance except for a fast-food type place. But Asia Garden is a real sit-down Chinese restaurant within walking distance to the inner city. It is even very close to a shady parking lot. I am not sure why this restaurant is not very popular. The restaurant looks decent enough from inside and outside and the toilet facilities are very clean.Once we went there after shopping and it was around 3.00 p.m. They had just finished a buffet, but the restaurant was open. They had noodle boxes for less than $5 euros. We were hungry, so we did order two of them and sat there. It took forever, but one could see that they took the noodles from the buffet tray and refried/sautéed in a wok. It was cooked to death so it was microbe-free. The taste was not bad, but it was mostly starch with few pieces of chicken here & there. It was our own fault to come here so late. Then a couple of days ago I went there on a Saturday around 1.p.m and they had the buffet again. I wanted to try the menu, but the staff discouraged me and said, âthis is all you can eat buffetâ. I did not argue and proceeded to the buffet. There were a lot of meat dishes, vegetables, yellow rice, noodles, spring-rolls & other fried stuff, soup, and also a sort of salad etc. The taste was not bad. There was a meat dish with a very strong taste (a mixture of acid and salt taste?). I was a bit worried if it had MSG, but I ate it anyway. Later on I had a burning sensation in the stomach so it must have been some artificial stuff they add to Chinese food. The price was 6.20 euros, a very low price for so much food. Now I was really worried. Well, I did live to tell the story. I am glad I tried the place, but would not consider going there ever again. I was told that there was another very good Chinese place out of the walking area. So, if you do have access to a car, donât settle for this Asia Garden restaurant!
