Good service, decent ambience. I picked this place based on the reviews but was somewhat disappointed by the food. Their shrimp spring rolls served Vietnamese style (soft) were delicious and a surprisingly large portion. They were running a special on their Thai ginger and spiced fish. This may be my fault because I was expecting something quite different ( a whole fish) and what came was good but nothing special. The disappointing dish of the evening was the Thai red curry. It was quite soupy, needed salt, and just did not have the deep rich flavors one would expect from a red curry.

I ate the vegetarian combo for $10.99 which included a small cup of lemon grass soup, one vegetable spring roll, small portion of salad, pad tofu and jasmine rice. The food was tasty, I am not a salad person, but the dressing was surprisingly tasty with some seeds added in. The portions were just enough, presentation was great, overall service and experience were good. Compared to East coast, it was a bit expensive, but then everything is more on the west coast! The only one improvement could have been in the spring roll, which was dripping oil.

Best all around Thai place I've found in Berkeley and they remember my off-menu order without me asking, including prik nam pla.Best hours. Too bad the parking is Berkeley city rip off meter. Try after 6 in a yellow zone or take a chance in the nearby Ace Hardware lot.
