Highlands is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 5,005, reflecting a decline of 92 (-1.8%) from the 5,097 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 248 (+5.1%) from the 4,849 counted in the 1990 Census. It is the home town of film maker, director, and comic book writer Kevin Smith. The eastern part of the town is built on a high bluff that overlooks Sandy Hook and the Atlantic Ocean, from which the borough derives its name. Atop this bluff are the Navesink Twin Lights.

Met our kids here for our granddaughterâs 4th birthday celebration. It was my first time eating here. I loved the laid back atmosphere. We had 9 kids who were so happy to be moving around after eating. The selection of food and drinks is amazing! I have Celiac Disease, so eating out is always stressful for me. Our server, Jessica was wonderful! She made me feel relaxed about my food. I tried the hard apple cider on draft. Wow! I ordered the wings and a gluten free pizza. Both delicious. I will definitely go back again. Fabulous experience for a family to eat at!

First of all, you have come here to know this is not a high end sushi place. Came here twice- had sushi one night. The fish was fine- no outrageous fish, but what we had was fresh and good. Decent value as well. The other night we had the hibachi- which also was good. Nothing special but good. Chef was very personable. For a quick reasonable sushi fix, Kyoto Sushi is worth a try.

We ate at Yumi last summer and thought it was the best sushi we ever tasted. We couldnât wait to go back again this summer, and we kept thinking about how great it was.We must have been sitting for at least 20 minutes before our waitress came over to us. We never got her name since she never introduced herself. We finally placed an order and waited forever for our edamame to come. The service got worse and worse throughout the night. Our rolls came out in dribs and drabs. They were good but not as good as we remembered. If we hadnât eaten there the year before and had the best sushi ever maybe we wouldnât have been so disappointed. It just wasnât what we had remembered. The rolls werenât melting in our mouths like they did last year. Hopefully it was just an off night for them. I canât even remember the names of the rolls to give them a review. We tried for first time last minute after the summer rush, it was a well designed relaxing space and most important, not noisy ! Excellent presentation and delicious. Interesting menu: creative and good choices LOVED the salmon Very good attentive service by all. Will return!
