Loved it so much I went here twice during my week in Tamarindo. Excellent for solo diners as you can sit at the bar and the portion sizes are just right. I loved the veggie tacos and micheladas and free nachos and dips are a great touch.NalaBala,Thanks for hanging out with us during your time in Tamarindo!Ãrale!El Jefe

The Shrimp Hole, casual seafood restaurant with the sunny deck, situated only one block from the beautiful beach of Tamarindo. This tropical 'hole in the wall' style restaurant serves a simple but mouth watering menu. We use sustainably farmed shrimp and
It was a dark and stormy night - on a Sunday evening off peak season that means most restaurants are closed. Not Shrimp Hole (which I had been trying to get to for several days).Fantastic fresh seafood, amazing friendly service and a VERY clean and comfortable air conditioned spot while lightning and thunder went on outside. Ordered a poke bowl, a classic, a beer and a cocktail FOR MYSELF (I was hungry) and nothing disappointed. Never having another poke bowl in NY again.

Had a lovely quick lunch at Mordo's whilst staying in Playa Grande. Two of us shared a fish and prawn meal with sodas. Food was really tasty and the owners really friendly and chatty. The establishment is relaxed and makes no excuses for being an outdoor venue with no frills. The only thing stopping me giving 5 stars was the amount of salt used on the fish and chips. It was way too much for me. It would be great to add less, as not everyone has such a high tolerance/preference for salt and instead put a salt cellar on the table. I spent most of my time trying to pick off the salt pieces from my food, which was a shame.

Found this place located about 50 meters off the main entrance to Playa Grande... Look for the "Craft Brewery" sign on the street.THE BEER.... The owner, Cameron, originally from Minnesota, is a local brewer who brews his own awsome craft beer concoctions in the form of a golden ale known as "Beach Beer", a hoppier IPA, a dark stout, and an unusual but must try ginger beer. On the night we visited he also had a great sangria with chopped apples plus red & white wine and a limited selection of hard liquor. Spoiled for choice I tried both the beach beer and the stout... both excellent and both tied for favorite !! My girlfriend had what she said was the best sangria that she had ever tasted!!THE FOOD.... Chef Dave is from Australia and serves a delicious selection of "Thai Style" meals. We selected what I believe was called a Thai Style BBQ Dish, chicken cooked in banana leaves, served with Asian style green veggies and Jasmine rice.We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next night for the "Bahn Mi Sliders". I believe that they are open Thursday-Saturday right now and only for dinner so this is a great place to stop after experiencing one of the magnificent sunsets on Playa Grande. So...What else can I say......5 star beer, 5 star food for 2 star pricing !! Well worth a visit !P.S. We also found out that this is the location of the Wednesday night "Feria" where local craftsmen come to sell their wares and where you can enjoy even more of the above mentioned craft beer along with several food vendors. ENJOY !!!!
