Reviews on Steakhouse food in Riga, Riga Region, Latvia. The Latvian capital, the largest city in the Baltics, is a fascinating mixture of proud Latvian tradition and influences of the various countries that have occupied it. Independent once again since 1991, Riga's Art Nouveau center has won it UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. Opened up to mass tourism with the advent of budget air travel, Riga's Old City and its abundance of bars and restaurants can be explored on foot. The New Town is easily reached by an efficient and modern bus and tram network.

Where to start? First, with Karina, our charming waitress, who we later found out is the co-owner with her husband, the chef. She was just awesome - cheerful, funny and so helpful. Believe me, this is not the norm in the Baltic states! Her service was thorough and fast. We came for the pizza, based on reviews here on TA. Honestly, the pizza was so much better than expected - it was exceptional! We each had our own. The ingredients were super fresh and delicious, and the crust scrumptious. We sat on the little secluded rear terrace with lights in the trees and only about 6 or 7 tables. The atmosphere was lovely. If we could, we would go straight back here for another dinner. This was our absolute favorite meal in Riga!

A legend tells of blue cows that have come out of the sea. Tales about these creatures originate in a distant past like the secrets of the Latvian kitchen. Just like Latvian legends have become more and more florid as centuries pass, the traditions of pre
The restaurant is in a series of buildings which are traditional in style, but I suspect were reconstructed after the serious damage Riga suffered in the Second World War. They look charming however, and the interiors have a good balance between traditional painting on the walls and contemporary lighting, which gives them a light spatious atmosphere. The food is similarly balanced - traditional, but lighter in style, which is all to the advantage. The steak was particularly good compared to a similar local dish I had in Estonia. The staff were friendly and there was a good range of drinks, though a little on the expensive side. Dear Ian! Great pleasure to hear such a nice and good review. We do the best we can to create this kind of emotion we created for you. We will be happy to see you again in our restaurant. A wonderful day for you.
