Souvlaki is Greek junk food but definitely not as junk as burgers or hot dogs!Mavro provato is making very good souvlaki, recommended on the Ermoupolis main street by the port!Only drawback was the very slow service!

It is worth the drive up a winding narrow road to eat here. Great view during the day and also at night looking at the lights of Hermoupolis. The menu does not offer seafood. As a party of four we had meatballs, lamb, chicken souvlaki and salad and a carafe of house red. The servings were very large and we were given sweet melon as a complimentary desert. We do not speak Greek but we managed to communicate with the owner/ waiter that the ripe tomatoes in the salad were delicious. He charaded that they were locally grown along with other produce, and he gave us some to take with us. A delightfully hospitable Greek, a great dinner and at a very reasonable price.

Just as expected, Pitaki Bar was actually pretty nice. Pork and chicken was nice, gyros was really great, village style fried potatoes, cold beer, view at Miaouli square and a friendly service is more than enough of what you expect.
