We were staying a boat on the Broads, we needed to stretch our legs and we needed to eat. We walked through the town centre as most places were closing; we found ourselves on Regent Road, full of typical seaside town shops & eateries. We decided to take a chance on The Regent because the frontage was extremely welcoming. I'm glad we did.The young girl who served us was exceptional, very attentive and friendly. The menu was substantial with lots of fish/seafood options. The dishes we ordered were lovely, very tasty and very obviously fresh. If there is any negative, it's only a little one and it was that the dining area was very warm, even with the doors propped wide open. Otherwise, definitely worth a visit.

Decided to have a meal for the first time in this restaurant. Table perfectly set up with linen tablecloths and staff is black and white. Staff dealt with us with what one would expect. Super service and food. Why have we not been here before. Highly recomment. High end for Regent Road.

Porterhouse Bar & Grill

This is my second review for Porterhouse and unfortunately it hasn’t improved. It has been two years since our last visit so we thought we would give it another go for lunch and we wish we hadn’t. Both my husband and I ordered a sirloin steak. His well done (which is so wrong in my book) and mine was medium. The food arrived and we tucked in... only to find mine was over cooked. I informed the waiter who apologised and asked if I wanted another. Obviously I said yes - whilst waiting for my food I continued to eat my chips and side dishes. Eventually my 2nd steak arrived and was cooked perfectly the shame was by now I wasn’t that hungry but did manage it. When we asked for the bill he asked how our meals were. I was in the ladies at this point so my husband informed them that my 2nd steak was perfect and his was ok but not great. When we received the bill we had only been charged for one round of drinks. Not sure if this was a gesture of goodwill or they had forgotten to add our 2nd drinks so we didn’t say anything. Will we think of giving it another try.... absolutely not!
