We head out to Villa Rubi for something different as we have had the same pie de la cuesta routine for 11 years. Saw some nice pictures and a #2 rating for restaurant's and figured why not. Well if anyone has kids the pool with the slides has alge in it all green in water and it is cement on the bottom. Continue walking past the bocci court very nicely set up while continuing to the pool area and deck overlooking the playa. Fair pool though needed a better cleanining job and the deck was tiny a group of 10 only had 1 lounger out and 2 chairs. Our group was there for some sun ,pool and lunch w/ drinks. There is a very large covered area with tables and chairs for at least 60 or 70 to sit and eat at. I am sure they have good food and drinks. Bottom line we were there up on the deck for 10 or 15 min after our driver dropped us off and many staff observed us walking in and no one seemed to take charge. There was just a young man telling our driver where to park. I had given a coutesy e-mail 1 week prior of our planned visit and arrival time and it was promptly answered which impressed me. Anyway we basically sat for 15 min for anyone to approach with just a welcome and finally decided to leave. Headed back to Vayma. If it isn't broke don't fix it. This is about the furthers place in Pie de la cuesta perhaps 3 miles past Tres Marias.

Casual elegant, air conditioned and open area also, with a beautiful golf view!! We thing in ourselves as a culinary workshop , here you can find french, italian, spanish and mexican food. Visit us , give us a try!!
Highly recommended. The calamari was thinly sliced in thd lightest batter, the coconut shrimp with mango sauce was to die for and the sea bass fillet was beautifully cooked. Nice complimentary bread basket was also provided and liked that they didnt try and sell expensive bottled water but served free ordinary iced tap water. Service was excellent and very attentive and friendly. There is a choice of indoor and outdoor seating but its quite a small restaurant (adjacent to the golf course) so worth booking ahead in high season. We had two courses plus bottle of wine and coffee which totalled a reasonable £65.

Casa de Tere is a traditional restaurant off the beaten path with authentic Mexican food. Prices are very reasonable, and has some of the best pozole in town.
I had this restaurant on my dining list for over 3 years before getting the chance to finally dine here on a traditional Pozole thursday. The restaurant itself is off the beaten path but most all cab drivers will know the name as it is very popular with the locals. I cannot compare this Pozole to any other as I had yet to try it before but I got the verde Pozole with shredded pork which is the traditional type. The portion was huge and extremely filling even for those with a hearty appetite. They offered a huge side tray of seasonings for the Pozole such as Chili powder, Oregano, Diced onions which completed the dish and flavored it perfectly. This restaurant is within walking distance of the Emporio hotel as you arrive to Cristabol Colon make a right and 2-3 short blks to Alonzo Martin make a left and a quick right which is still Alonzo Martin La Casa de tere is on the left about 100' up the street.

Great food there!About pricing, is a little below average in comparison with other beach restaurants, even other restaurants by the streets. You got your own space at the beach, they bring you the food, beverages (good variety), the ocean is some feet away and it is not so crowded!
