Over the past several years, I have visited the El Meson in Boringuen, Aguadilla Area of PR. My impressions has never changed, They are always busy, (that tell you something) they are efficeint, clean, and no complaint with their food. I think of their as an upscale MacDonalds without kids toys etc. They are there to serve you and get you back on the road and they do just that. When hungry or thirsty, Go There. It is not a place for a meeting or visiting. I have visited other El Mesons in Ponce and more.

This place is the up-scaled version of a small wagon that used to be located at a road near the entrance of the existing location but still tasty and fresh flavor as usual. The place serves about 4-6 small portions and about 6 other bigger plates. This place used to be a Taco Del Mar franchise local (still keeps some of the furniture). Their best treats are chaparritas, enchiladas, and burritos. The tacos are average. They make food to order therefore you have to wait when full (it's worth the wait). I call ahead and usually make my order carry-out. They only have a mobile phone.There are two draw-backs: only cash (no ATM) and their ventilation makes your clothes smell. There is an ATM around the corner, though. They sell Jarritos (small jugs) that are Mexican fruit flavored sodas that are oustanding. My favorite is grapefruit. They have some desserts available. Prices are around $8 for a meal. They have another restaurant in Hatillo.

An assortment of meals that involve Plantains, hence the name. the Chicken "Sandwich de Platano" is a classic but they make many other good foods. Avg. price is about 7$ per item. They open at about 11am daily but it's best to call ahead, otherwise, you'll be waiting for a bit. It's right before Church's Chicken on Rt. 129 South. It's a food truck and may be easily missed.
