Restaurant is clean, inviting, a nice decor. Food was good, tasty enjoyable. Chips and Salsa were very good. Service was pleasant at first than became slow and inattentive. We were overcharged for our food when we paid at the register but did not realize it until after we had left. Only one type of Margarita served which was overpriced and nothing special. We won't be back. So many more better options locally. Don't waste your time or money, pass this one up and experience a better place.
We have found the best freshest Mexican food I've ever had. It's owned by a husband and wife. She uses the same recipes used at home. (Talked to owner.) I have had the Breakfast Tacos, tamales, steak with cheese taco, shrimp w/cabbage taco, and tostada. They use a crumbling cheese, not shredded American. My husband had a breakfast plate that had fresh made refried beans that weren't a paste and super flavorful. Be sure to have the pecan flan. It's flan on top of cake drizzled with homemade caramel. She also makes a chocoflan (haven't tried, yet). They have extended there hours on weeknights to 8 pm.
This unassuming authentic taqueria is tucked away in a small shopping plaza on the Cleveland Highway. While serving the expected tacos and burritos, it also serves excellent tortas (Mexican sandwiches), steaks, seafood, and Mexican desserts. They offer a lunch menu, children's plates, catering, and they have a bar. The prices are very reasonable.I ate there for lunch and had a delicious torta and the horchata drink was one of the best that I've had in Gainesville. Based on quality of food for price and general ambiance, I rate this restaurant an excellent choice. I definitely plan on return visits.
