Desiring what I consider authentic Mexican food, I selected The Guadalajara Grill. I was quickly seated and served. The Cadillac Margarita looked larger than usual and was good, however, there's never enough tequila!! I ordered the De Carne wet burrito with Mexican rice and refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream; it was exactly what I was wanting!! I actually really enjoyed the Mariachi's; they were loud, but very entertaining. I'll be back.

Didn't come to the Baldwin Park store but are at the Peck store which was not listed. Food is good as always but really the service is bad but they still have good business.

Fonda Don Chon Restaurant

I’ve been going to Fonda’s since they opened. My grandparents love this place. My girlfriends parents love this place. I love this place! The first thing I tried here was their Birria with some corn tortillas. Nice juicy tender meat that falls apart without difficulty. I occasionally stop by for their brunch but for the past 2 years I’ve been getting the carne asada molcajete with a side of rice and beans and corn tortillas. The molcajete comes with nopales (cactus), queso (cheese), jalapeños (you know.. that spicy chili), avocado, and carne asada (flank steak) all inside of a tomato based sauce. It comes with enough food for 2 people and it costs about $20 so it’s perfect for a small couples trip. If you’re ever in the San Gabriel valley or feel like tasting some good Mexican food then you need to make a trip to Fonda’s!

I've reviewed restaurants all over the world, and wanted to show a little love to a local find for authentic Cuban food. Don't be put off by the rundown strip mall it's in, between a cell phone place and a barbershop, hidden behind a large building. The interior is charming, and the real reason to come is the FOOD. The only reason it's four stars instead of 5 is that the service is slow, but you can enjoy salsa music, admire the art on the walls or check out soccer on TV while you wait. We came for lunch on a Saturday and every booth was filled. My husband had a Media Noche sandwich plate and I had the Camarones Enchilados -- fresh, huge shrimp and vegetables in a yummy wine sauce, with black beans, rice and plantains. You see the chef cooking in the open kitchen and he thanked us for coming with a big smile as he worked over the stove. The menu says "beer and wine coming soon" and then there will be a line out the door, so do yourself a favor and discover it now. Just don't come if you're in a hurry. The food is worth waiting for.
