Enveloped by expansive beaches, moss-draped oaks, and salt marshes, Saint Simons Island, part of the Golden Isles chain near Brunswick, is a nearly 18 square mile island, once dominated by rice and cotton plantations. Today, it’s a recreation wonderland with superb championship golf courses, miles of bicycle paths, great fishing, historic sites, and excellent restaurants. If you love golf, you’ll love Saint Simons Island, which is home to the 18-hole King and Prince Golf Course and 27-hole Sea Palms Golf & Tennis Resort. For such a compact island, Saint Simons is brimming with historic sites. Don’t miss the Saint Simons Lighthouse, where you can climb the 129 steps for a magnificent view of the island; the Fort Frederica National Monument, which has remnants of the British fort built in the 1700s; and the Bloody Marsh Battle Site, where the Spanish defeated the British in 1742.

A sophisticated, intimate dining experience by Abney Harper. Serving dinner Tuesday-Saturday at 6:00 and lunch Thursday-Saturday, 11:30-2:00.
A tucked away spot in a shopping center connected to a boutique by the same name is where you will find Nancy. Kristie was our incredible waitress who when asked for recommendations from the menu easily steered us to the crustless quiche and tomato pie! If I could have licked my plate clean in a restaurant, I would have!! The flavors were balanced and delicious. Both entrees came with a salad on top. The soup of the day was a vegetable tomato based soup that was just as amazing. The piece de resistance was the meringue dessert including fresh blueberries and vanilla ice cream!! It is a good thing we are just visiting St. Simons and not residents, as we would easily visit here daily! Thank you Kristie for your friendly service and incredible service. Dear Edengulledge, YOU JUST MADE OUR DAY!!!!! thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kind words!! And thank you for what you said about Kristie! She is such a blessing to us and to have a guest like you so kindly appreciate her means the world. We wish you were residents! 2nd best is if you promise to come see us every time you visit SSI. Much love, Abney

We made a reservation and dined here on the evening of October 11, 2019. The restaurant is located in a large marina complex located on the western side of the last bridge connecting St. Simons Island with the causeway that runs westward to the town of Brunswick, GA and I-95. The restaurant is clean and very modern, but the ambience is pretty noisy, and the prices were a bit higher than what we felt were fair and reasonable for the service and food quality we received. I don't think we would choose to dine here again on a future trip to St. Simons, particularly given the many other dining venues available on St. Simons that would appear to offer better ambience and service. If you are really looking for a romantic place with great food, then make a reservation at Delaney's in the central part of St. Simons. We dined there on our second night, and it was superb.

Welcome to Bennie's Red Barn, the oldest privately owned restaurant on Saint Simon's Island! Nestled between beautiful live oaks, Bennie's has been a favorite of locals and tourists since 1954. No visit to the Golden Isles is complete without a visit to B
This was a return visit for our family reunion. We had a party of 9 with a reservation. Our server was most pleasant and seemed attentive in the beginning. Appetizers was good, especially the oyster cocktail. After that it was downhill! The salads were mushy and swimming in a thin dressing. Our wait time for entrees was excessive. One steak had to be sent back and was not replaced for 40 minutes at which time our server disappeared. We did speak to the manager and he did reduce our bill but in my opinion that was too late. We were there for more than 2 hours. After our good experience last year this was a huge disappointment.

This is a small restaurant and somewhat of a hidden gem. The staff members are accommodating and pleasant. We both had noodle dishes. And they were delicious! The food was well prepared in s timely manner. And the price of our dinners were very reasonable. This little place is our favorite Asian restaurant on the island! It is well worth a try!
