The Yellow Bird is located right in the heart of Midtown Harrisburg, and offers coffee and pastries, as well as very nice meals. They bake their own pastries, and their own bread, which is wonderful. The environment is pleasant, without being stiff of formal. The food is mostly healthy options of nice breakfast sandwiches, soups and salads, or sandwiches/wraps. The place has a nice, neighborhood coffeehouse sort of feel to it, relatively small and intimate. It draws a nice crowd. Service is perky and pleasant - as is the whole place.

While my lunch companions really enjoyed their Pho I passed and ordered the rice noodles and vegetables which was excellent. Portion size for the price was very good - $10.60 for a large plate. The service was quick and efficient and our waters were refilled regularly without being a nuisance. The staff were friendly and gracious and obviously take pride in preparing the food and making your visit enjoyable. We will return here.

Simply Turkey was a good lunch option, with a couple of unique menu options. I ended up taking the order out, although there was definitely room for dining in the restaurant. I ordered a turkey Reuben and a cream of sweet potato corn chowder. Both were very good and enjoyable as something a little bit "different' for lunch!

We went here not expecting too much - after all, it's just a soup, sandwich, salad place, right? Well, the soups, salads and sandwiches were pretty good. I tried their tomato pepperjack soup and it was very tasty. Everything seemed freshly prepared. Prices were reasonable.
