This is the place to go when you want a delicious, relaxing lunch. I had a turkey noodle soup and turkey sandwich. The soup was the soup of the day and the sandwich was really good, too. The sandwich had a great cranberry mayonnaise on it, but the cranberry wasn't overpowering. Then came the dessert!! They make the desserts in house. We had the pound cake and a lemoncello dessert. The pound cake was good, but I recommend the lemoncello dessert because it is so unique. Even the coffee, which is served in fine china, was perfect.

Small place but great food! The grill pork sandwich is the best in Central Florida. We've tried several places and the family agrees that we always go to Deland for the Banh Mi. Service is usually fast and friendly. We would highly recommend and will be back again!

We had no issues with the staff. The Lady working there was pleasant and informative. We enjoyed the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches and OMG the biscuits were so light, flaky, moist and tender. I want the biscuit dough recipe.

A small but tasty cafe tucked inside the mainstreet building downtown Deland. Started in 1983. Fresh, cooked to order burgers, sandwiches and fresh salads. Homemade soups and bread bowls. Homemade desserts to die for. Low price but big in quality.
Cooks Cafe is a buffet which serves a variety of delicious meats and meal options. Although it is a buffet, diners are allowed only 1 serving of the meat of their choice. However, the portion of meat served is a very substantial amount. Unlimited return trips to the salad bar and side dishes are allowed. Beverages and desserts are offered at an additional cost. Cook's offers several meal options for combining beverages and courses which saves the diner a small amount on the dinner bill. They are open for lunch as well. The service is good and the ambiance is wonderful, as the restaurant is located in an old house in the heart of DeLand's historic district and it is directly across the street from the Stetson University campus. Diners will leave the restaurant feeling very full indeed.
