I had the pleasure to be visiting VLA and found Fonda Almafuerte. Not only I was served in a warm and friendly way but the food surpassed all my expectations. Portions are huge, dishes well presented and very inviting and the price surprisingly affordable. Great atmosphere created by the unique ingredients added by its owners, Andy in the front of friendliness and service and George adding the necessary Magic to make me want to come back for more!

This lovely restaurant was a ten minute walk from our room at Marinas and we got there unannounced at about nine. Within thirty minutes the place was packed and not without good reason! Our orders were taken and we skipped straight to mains. That said, we were given a lovely selection of tapas while we enjoyed a nice bottle of Porderoso red wine. In fact when our meals were ready, the remaining nibbles were whipped away so quickly I could have cried, particularly the remaining piece of Spanish omelette Iâd saved... The goulash was divine and my wifeâs salmon trout beyond amazing. The service was attentive and happy and by the time we left at eleven, a queue had formed outside. It appeared that they do takeout too! Great spot and we loved it. Thanks!Muchisimas gracias por el comentario! No existe nada mejor para nosotros que disfruten de nuestro trabajo! Los esperamos siempre, cariños!!!

We were told by a friend who knows the city very well to visit HUB and order 2 specific dishes: HUB salad or "lomo envuelto", and for dessert "trufas de chocolate blanco con frambuesas". We ordered the sald and was very good, my date ordered "cordero" which was superb, and the white chocolate truffles were delicious! The ambient was charming and quite, just what we were looking for in our holidays. The chef was very polite and the service was very helpful and friendly.Would definite recomend it and for sure I´ll go back next time in Angostura!Gracias por su opinión. Los esperamosNuevamente

Came as a recommendation, but this did not disappoint. We started by meeting the chef... "El Gallego"... Originally from Galecia, Spain and depite having beenin Argentina for a long while, his roots in cooking still remain. And from that point forward, we put ourselves in his hands and enjoyed the all the tastes he sent our way. He began by sending several Tapas to our table... Gambas al Ahi (garlic shrimp), pulpo (sauteed mini squid), calamari, mussels. That alone could have been enough, but the 4 of us then split a 2 person Paella. Pure delight. This town does not lack good food, but would recommend that you make this one of your stops. be sure to tell Placido hello.
