We ended up in the Arch Inn due to recommendations of our guides and were not dissapointed. They do not take reservations but since we were early, it was no problem to get a table (out of season). The service was very welcoming and helpful, also in the choice of wine. We took the catch of the day which was one of the best meals during our trip to Scotland (salmon with a very delicious sauce, mash and fresh vegetables). Also the wine was very nice!

Recommended here for seafood but the weather meant Langoustines were unavailable. Starters were mixed, scallops lovely but mussels half empty. This was raised with waiting staff who didn't seem bothered. Don't bother with the fish pie. It was overly creamy, a bit bland and appeared to have been 'nuked' in the microwave.

We were back here in this hotel once again after a period of several months away and were looking forward to our return visit which we enjoyed very much. The surroundings are very pleasant and the staff are charming and helpful. It is a warm, welcoming place with a good range of food available. Prices are very fair for this part of the land.
