This place was so good, and I even go the kids to try something new! The food was super fried, super fattening, but really good. Everything was made fresh, and my favorite thing about the place was the neighborhood feel. Weâd definitely return when in town again.

Good salad! But we went for the all you could eat crab and they were out! We were told to call ahead next time to reserve them! Not happy about that cause we drove a long way to eat THE ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB. and wound up with a hamburger and a salad.
What to do and see in Plaquemine, United States: The Best Places and Tips
If you are looking for the 'authentic', 'scenic', 'genuine' restaurant where locals eat regularly and its denizens are featured in Hollywood portrayals of the 'real Louisiana' (like "Swamp People")--Carbo's is IT.Nothing special from the outside--inside, it's a Louisiana delight. The savory smells of 'what's cooking' will have your taste buds twittering and your mouth salivating. Nothing artificial here. It's all fresh and cooked on site. The menu features Louisiana Cajun dishes--specialty seafood in season (like crawfish or crabs); fried, boiled, broiled--with gravy, etouffe, smothered, 'dressed'--it's all genuine and all VERY good. Not sure what to order? The ladies will help you out--with comments from their local patrons. This is a family place--and they DO treat a stranger like family. Friendly, helpful, interested in you-your people-where you are from-why you are there-and how you like their state.... this is the real deal. There's outdoor (picnic style) seating--right on the bayou. One of the prettiest bayou scenes in the entire Atchafalaya Basin--straight out of Hollywood or Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean. Don't believe it? Down the road, across the bayou--that's where "Swamp People" live and are filmed. If they are not busy, a tourist might see them and chat for a bit at the local bait shop, restaurant, or boat landing. This restaurant is SO good, we'll be going back as often as we can!
Don't be thrown off by the appearance of the building. This place is good! In fact we went two days in a row! We tried shrimp lomein, sesame chicken, general chicken, & sweet and sour chicken. All are served with an egg roll & shrimp fried rice. You can get a plate lunch and a drink for under 10 bucks. They also offer poboys, fried fish and shrimp dishes.
