Enjoy casual dining on the banks of the magnificent Tamar River. The River Cafe, at Beauty Point, specialises in seasonal menus prepared in-house with fresh Tasmanian produce. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner you will be captivated by the lovely views
Position, position, position! What a magic cafe. Great place to have brunch and relax in the ambience overlooking the blue sea. Food delicious, staff very accommodating and attentive. Only complaint was the coffee - 1/2 strength lattes were too strong and bitter tasting. Other than that cannot vault this unique cafe. The girls are very friendly and service swift, gets crowded and they cope admirably!! We will be back

Saturday lunch. Warm welcome, pleasant view. Staff were friendly, laughing and attentive. Lots of people coming and going for meals but this did not seems to interrupt the pleasantness of the staff or dining experience. Service was prompt. Menu pricing was fair with fresh seafood, pork, chicken and steaks available. I wouldn't say the meals were counter meals, more bistro as the name of the place suggests, so don't expect a pub experience, it's way nicer than that. Would recommend the pea, spinach and chestnut soup as it was delicious. Small or large serve choices on quite a few meals. Desserts were also delicious. There were at least 3 dining areas plus outside dining. Also rooms for private functions. They offer afternoon tea services for 8 or more people. Something we will try in the future. The facilities were very clean and modern. Artwork was interesting. There is also plenty of parking and a beautiful setting for photos with the amazing view over the Tamar River. I highly recommend a visit to Riviera Hotel Bistro, am sure it will be on your list of favorite places to dine in Tassie.

We popped in here for lunch and were glad we did! My husband had the Ocean Trevallen - cooked in amazing batter and served with salad and lovely crunchy chips - the fish was superb! I had the scallop pie and I agree with Saphire01 comment - it is the BEST scallop pie I have had in Tasmania - and well worth the money! The portion sizes were very generous and sadly that meant dessert was not an option as we just could not fit any more food in! Coffee was great as well - happy, friendly waitress - Thank you for a lovely lunch experience!
