First time dine in Alecs as recommended by our friend so went their to celebrate my birthday. Upon arrival the host gave us a warm welcome and our waitress was very attentive from start to finish.We are satisfied with over all experience from the presentation and the flavours of each dishes were amazing.We will come back again and recommend to family & friends and to all seafood lovers you should visit Alec's Restaurant.Lastly, that you for the wonderful evening!

This was our daughter's choice for her 40th birthday. It is in a lovely environment just outside Brentwood and has a very welcoming feel about it. The food, service and for a lunchtime a good comfortable atmosphere of quiet sophistication with the waiting staff being attentive but not intrusive. Lunchtime set menu was varied and beautifully presented as well as delicious. Nice choice of wines and for the type of restaurant not ridiculous priced. We had a great time and was in no way rushed which was lovely as my wife and I live somewhat of a distance away from the area and gave us a chance to relax after our journey around the M25. Two minor negatives for ME.1) The waiting staff wore Jeans which just seemed totally out of place for the type of restaurant? 2) They did not take American Express CC. That said I would recommend this restaurant to anybody and especially if you have a special occasion or wish to impress.

Not unused to eating out I was so very disappointed. Having looked at the menu, prior to our visit I had high expectations of the menu.Sadly, I was disappointed by the standard of food served, the slow service (from the kitchen) and the high prices charged considering the quality and quantity of what was served.I would not make a return visit.In fairness to the front-of-house staff, they were very pleasant and helpful. The main problem came from the standard of food provided from the kitchen. My meal was not hot, some of the vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding stone cold and to be honest I could easily have repaired the soles of my shoes with the "slow roasted sirloin of beef"! £17: 95I was not charged for my main meal, was provided with a "no charge" dessert, but I left the restaurant very hungry and dissatisfied. I was not tempted by anything else that was served at our table.4 (not so jumbo) King prawns hardly seemed adequate for a starter charged at £12
