Well, well, well, what a wonderful find in a remote spot on Scotland's West Coast.Let's start with the building. It's about as simple and cozy. The kitchen, which is tiny and right next to the dining area, is fitted out with pretty basic cooking equipment but don't let this fool you. The food that the chef and owner creates in this space is about as good as it gets!Next, the views. They're breathtaking. You can see right across the bay, out to the Summer Isles. Views don't get much better. Then, the service. Fabulous. You are well looked after. Finally, the food. I've already touched on it. One word. Brilliant. If you love seafood, you'll adore this place. You won't find much fresher or better anywhere in the world (and I've eaten in many places around the world). The food is local and mouth watering. We drove a couple of hours to eat here and it was well worth it.Salt Seafood Kitchen is a hidden gem of a place. I can't recommend it enough.Bon Apetite.

We booked to go for Sunday lunch yesterday and what a disaster. We arrived just before 2pm. The kitchen was dark the bar virtually empty and none of the restaurant table laid for meals. a man behind the bar fairly obviously wanted to ignore us. We stood around in the restaurant area for a few minutes and after the staff member ignored us left. They very obviously don't serve Sunday lunch - why the hell didn't they tell us when we phoned to book the table - we wasted many miles and much time yesterday. We have been to Fuaran many many times in the past and it has always been great - how come it went so wrong this time?

School of piping and little café with awesome food. And the end of the road that goes beyond achiltibuie in wester ross, highlands, scotland.
Lovely selection of cakes and scones. Soup was a little bit cool but still very tasty. Worth a visit if in the area. Great views over the Summer isles.

Over the winter months The Summer Isles Bar is open occasionally. Please check for regular updates on opening times on our website.
Superb bar lunch. Burger was homemade and really substantial with a super burger relish/salsa. Chips were also fabulous. One of best tasting burgers I've enjoyed. Set me up for the whole day!My wife recommends her soup too - especially for anyone who wants to eat again that day :-)Dear ColDogMacKI am very pleased to read that you enjoyed your lunch at The Summer Isles Bar. Our "house" burger is gaining quite a following amongst visitors to the bar which - in my slightly biased view - is wholly justified!RegardsSimon Cotton
