Microbrewery. In Donde Bava Where can taste rich craft beers produced in Vilcabamba and other artisans in Ecuador, with bites to accompany them.
A few days ago I went with some friends to this small new place that we heard some good stories about. Donde Bava turns out to be a new but promising local beer brewery with a small rustic restaurant attached. They serve 3 home-made beers (blond, red and dark) and they have a small menu with vegetarian and vegan food.Beer and food were very tasty, at good prices (a glass of tasty artesan tap-beer for less than 2 US$) and served with a smile. For sure this weekend we will be going back for another beer and we invite everyone who want to join us!

Charlie has lived in Ecuador for about 11 years. His restaurant is friendly and frequented by a number of the expats in Vilca. I went with an expat friend. We split a pizza that was very good. They have local craft beer on tap as well as the Ecuador standards. If you are looking for a friendly place with good food and atmosphere, you have found it.

Beautiful outdoor setting with stunning views, great barbecue, excellent craft beers and friendly, caring people. What more could you ask for? I like to visit this family run business at least once a month. The dad makes the beer, with ingredients they grow, in equipment he built. An older son is in charge of the food. The youngest son waits the tables. My favorite beer is the red. There is also black and blond. I usually get the medium combo plate (there are also small and large sizes) - which includes pork ribs, beef ribs, chicken wings and mushrooms, and comes with a side of mashed potatoes and gravy and cole slaw. Some friends and I were given a tour of the adjacent growing and beer making operations after one of our initial visits. The family seems genuinely glad to see us when we return. Open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Try to get there close to 1 to be one of the first to place your order.
