Twizel's latest social meeting place, combining great food, craft beers and fabulous wines! This contemporary space also plays homage in its design to the Ministry of Works era, the reason that the Twizel township was created. A welcoming vibe and space t
We got in late and it was toward the end of tourist season, so we lucked out that MOW was open. Pleasantly surprised to have really good burger and quesadilla with local beers and wine. Typical bar atmosphere, but a cool place to hangout.

Certainly quite unique. It offers bar food, Thai food, a bar, bottle store and gaming centre. The veggie burger consists of a bun, shredded carrots, a fried egg, pineapple, beetroot and a mushroom. It was a reasonably busy Friday evening. They had very limited condiments (e.g. 1 bottle of tomato ketchup) so when the waitress brings the meals and you ask for ketchup she points at which table you have to go and retrieve it from. You then have to disturb other diners and ask if you can take the bottle from them - odd.NB the yellow garlic pepper sauce is over a year out of date...

Ate here while staying in Twizel. The staff were welcoming and right on the job. There is a good selection of dishes available for a restaurant in a small town. Patrons can sit in the bistro or in the adjoining bar. This place got busy in the evening, especially the bar. The food was good, although the steak was over-cooked on 1 night.
