A river side restaurant with tables outside offering a plebeian and quiet view of the waterway.Like several other restaurants we ate in Warsaw and Gdansk there’s a level of cookery that barely ascends to the competent. We pretty gave up on our search for good pirogies and settled for fuel. At Taverna that’s what we got. Slices of herring with beet puree was just about eatable. There was only a Chilean Chardonnay to drink if you didn’t want beer. A slice of Halibut topped with breadcrumbs was hardly worth the death of the magnificent fish and the Pork Knuckle with a bacon covered roll of old potatoes was mostly fat and bone.
