OCEANIC CAFE specialises in tapas, organic wines, artisanal beers and signature cocktails - live music most weekends - open Thus, Fri, Sat during winter season from 18.00 till late.
If you are on vacation in Faial, you definitely need to visit Oceanic bar and cafe in Horta. I can only describe this cafe as very authentic and inspiring. The waiters is the best, always smiling and happy, and ready to have a talk with you. If youâre hungry, you can be served with tapas. Snack eating like local ham, local cheese, tuna an so on. This amazing place is driven by a man called Les Gallagher. His passion for the the ocean, the Island and the nature is expressed in every detail in this bar. Next door you will find a small shop/galleria where you can see Les Gallaghers work as a illustrator. So if you want to bring something special home from this beautiful island, you can buy Les Gallaghers illustrations of the marine life under the surface of the Azorean ocean.

After waiting more than an hour the stake was not possible to bite (with so many nerves), so it went back. Even with the meal going back to the kitchen (and not replaced because the cliente could not wait one more hour) it was charged and after the complain of the client of being charged the employee told that could not do any thing and that would have to talk with the boss that was 3 blocks ways. The worst meal experience in the last 5 years.

We ate twice at Petiska Aki during our recent visit to Faial. The owner was welcoming and readily accommodated our preferences. Everything seemed made to order and was delicious. House wines available by glass were surprisingly good and inexpensive. We met same locals on both our visits and were greeted like old friends.

Stopped here for a quick snack and drink one lunchtime totally unsure of what to expect. Well impressed. You can eat inside or out overlooking the marina in the sun without the constant noise of traffic.Snack food was served quickly and tasted good. They have a good selection of beers which are not expensive.Thoroughly recommended if you want to chill for a couple of hours and watch the boats.
