Lovely spot, highly recommended. We had 4 kids Turkey dinners, 2 massive burgers and chips, jug of blackcurrant, 2 cokes and we ate every bit! Delicious food, friendly staff. Would definitely go back. Free ice cream and free choc cake for our daughter whose 8th birthday it was. Altogether €60. Fabulous!

One of our first stops when we go to Arklow isThe Ship to get our first pint of Guinness. Sean is always friendly and remembers us (we have been there several times over the past 7 years!). The staff is friendly and accomodating, the food is great and when we have been there for the entertainment it has been wonderful. Looking forward to going back.Hi Pat D,Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. It means a great deal to all of here to see people appreciating what we do here. I was struggling to find a place to eat in Arklow as the main street appears empty of eating houses. i went to Darcy McGee's on the recommendation of a local. Its a fine sized pug that does grub. I got a menu straight away and had a set menu for a very reasonable price. I went for the Chinese options on the menu and was not disappointed.I enjoyed my meal and was very pleased with everything about it. The staff were great. I would go back if I was in the town again.

I went to stay in Sally O'Briens with a group of friends,It is an inexpensive B/B Bar which one of our members booked . When we got there the staff were very friendly and showed us to our rooms which were a real let down, while the bedding was clean, the wall parer was ripped and stained, the table top and mirror were missing, there were two pieces of wood mounted on the wall where they used to be. The carpet had iron burns on it. Could have a conversation with the people next door through the wall. There were fire doors on the landing area which didn't close. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I ever slept in..We went for a over night and had dinner there which was very nice, no one had any complaints, we also had breakfast the following morning and that was good too. Later in the evening a Band played which were excellent but after they finished a disco and a rave started , one in the Bar and one out the back in a semi open area. The main problem with this was that the amount of people allowed onto the premises during this time, people were shoulder to shoulder no room to move, I would definitely say it was a fire hazard, after 2 a.m. some of the group decided enough was enough and went up to bed but there was no sleep to be had, it seemed that what ever room people stayed in was above the noise. Some of the rooms I entered were so loud we had to shout at each to be heard and the waste bins were moving around the floor with the vibration from the ear splitting music, the music went on for another half hour and was a further 15-20 minutes at least before people left.
