In Peru's second-most populous city, aka "The White City," stunning colonial buildings made of pearly sillar stone vie for attention with the surrounding volcanoes and snow-capped peaks of the western Andes. Founded in 1540, it's a smorgasbord of mansions and museums. The top attraction, 215,000-square-foot Santa Catalina Monastery, is like its own city within a city, complete with fountains and cobblestone streets. Arequipa is the favorite base for visiting Colca Canyon and its massive condors.

The Red Lion is a modern version of an english style pub, with not only great Peruvian craft beers, but also great food and showcasing many sport events, live music and more. We have more than 30 different Peruvian craft beers, including beers on tap, and
Nice upstairs. Good choice of Old Tree cider. Good music and nice decor.Fish and chips was not great. The fish was a very small portion and chips tasted like they had been reused/refried as they were crunchy with no soft potato left and full of oil. I couldn't eat them. Worst chips in a year in South America. 'Bangers' and mash was oversized hot dogs, not actual sausages. There was no proper gravy more like a small garnish so quite dry. Bitterly disappointed especially after all te good reviews. Recommend this place for a drink but wouldn't eat here again.

At the end of a long-but-enjoyable FWT (Free Walking Tour) of Old Town Arequipa with Carlos, we went upstairs to the veranda of Deja Vu. After a round of complimentary pisco sours, my wife and I decided to stay for early dinner. At first we were the only table, but were soon joined by others. The food was really good, and the service helpful and inviting. And we were able to watch the sun go down on Chachani and on the old church across the street - a truly memorable vision.
