The portions are generous and the price is fair. I especially liked their ethnic dishes, and I would recommend choosing one of them rather than the standard grill dishes.

First thing first, if you are looking for an gastronomic experience, you have to look an another place, this place is your average pizza chopshop. The "Restaurant" is located along the main street and it is hard to miss the chopshop, the view is nothing to send a post card home about, and besides this there is nothing remarkable about the location. When it comes to the food the only thing worth even trying is the pizza, which is passable, if you are very hungry and for some weird reason chooses Orion. the rest of the food is uneatable, the pasta and the fish is ALWAYS overcooked, they can't make a beef, even if their lives depends on it, and everything they make is made from prefabricated food, heated up, most likely in a microwave and served. And no matter what you order, it will be soaked in a industrial prefabricated sauce. So why pay way to much for food that you can buy at the local grocery store and heat up your self for the fraction of the cost? Seeing the people who prepares the food, washing the garbage bin in their chef uniforms, makes me also question their hygienic standard. So would I recommend Orion Steinkjer? Only if you have a though stomach, no taste buds, are really hungry and is not afraid for a tapeworm infection, for anybody else I would suggest, drive 30 minutes south, to a small town named Innerøy, the chances find genuine food, made from local grown and breed ingredients, with personality is better there.

Vi bestilte en mengde småretter og fikk langt over forventning. Et hav av smaker og alt ble forklart etter hvert spm rettene ble båret inn. Perfekt for slow Food og hyggelige samtaler. Skal du spise godt i Steinkjer -besøk Famille!

Verona Mat & Vinhus is located in the center of Steinkjer. The place has a special interior with lots of artificial fruits and leaves in the ceiling. Pleasant staff and a varied menu with good prices. The food was good and was served quickly (but I would have liked it even better if they had not used so much barbeque seasoning on the fried potatoes).
