The city of Sitka, located on Baranof Island along the Alaska Panhandle, was once the capital of Russian America. Nearby Sitka National Historical Park was established to commemorate the Battle of Sitka in 1804, the last major conflict between Europeans and the native Alaskans. The park now helps preserve the culture of the Tlingit people, as well as the Russian and American settlers, with collections of rare artifacts, the preserved remains of the Tlingit fort and a Russian Bishop's House.

Located at the foot of the bridge in the remodeled VanWinkles space, with breath taking views, free wifi and a dozen charging stations. We are serving delicious thin crust pizzas made with the finest ingredients. You will also find fresh hand tossed salad
We went to this place on the advice of some locals, and were not disappointed. This place is upstairs, close to the waterfront and clearly attracts a large contingent of âlocalsâ. We did not spot a lot of tourists here. The ambiance is âsports barâ meets âfishermanâs hangoutâ, which was just what we were looking for. There is a large central bar and more than an adequate number tables around it. The space felt relaxed and uncrowned. Noise level was moderate, but not excessive. We were promptly served and attended to throughout the meal. We ordered one large salad to share between us, which turned out to be a very good decision as the salad was so large that it could have served 3 people easily, and we are not âlightâ eaters. the pizza was good and generously sized, but the crust not quite as crispy as I like. Still, Iâd be happy to come back to this place on a regular basis.

Tucked away far from the street entrance but with good, authentic Mexican food and decent service. For me it provided a good change of pace from all the seafood I'd been eating!

Visiting Sitka from Wyoming. We found the service and food both excellent. We ordered a pizza which we really enjoyed. As we were leaving we saw a few Mexican dishes being served. The next day we decided to return to have the Mexican food. We again found the service to be friendly and prompt and the food delicious. The portions were large. The complimentary chips were warm and both the mild and hot salsa were great.

Year round waterfront dining, large deck overlooking the harbor. Featuring, Locally made Pelminis (Russian dumplings), Hump Island Oysters, Grass Fed organic beef and chicken burgers, Alaskan Chowder, local catch salmon and rockfish burgers, and great sal
We stopped in for lunch and had burgers and drinks. Our server was very friendly, even allowing me to order half fries and half onion rings when he saw I was indecisive about which to get with my burger. The restaurant is slightly off the beaten path, but still easily in walking distance from the center of town. And it sits by the water, which is nice. (You can sit inside or outside.)
