It was founded in 1977 by a fusion of the city Hamont and the village Achel. On January 1, 2006, Hamont-Achel had a total population of 13,770. The total area is 43.66 km² which gives a population density of 315 inhabitants per km². The municipality houses the Trappist Abbey of Achel, part of which is Brouwerij de Achelse Kluis, one of the 11 Trappist breweries.

Recentelijk helemaal gerenoveerd! ziet er up to date uit...en voor de warme dagen is er een tuinterras! De menukaart is heel uitgebreid,keuze uit pizza"s kebab, pasta, schotels enz...alles wordt vers bereid en dat proef je.Je krijgt hier grote portie's en de prijs is heel goed.Je wordt supervriendelijk bediend door de medewerkers.. proberen waard!!

Perfect restaurant just a few minutes outside of Centre Parcs. Menu is mainly limited to pizza or pasta, but everything we ordered was good.Most importantly for us, almost everything on the menu could be made gluten free for my coeliac child.The kids loved the food but loved the play area even more. Hours of fun were had every evening!A large choice of delicious ice creams for only 1 Euro each!We ended up coming here every evening of our 3 night stay at centre Parcs.

Was just going to write a review how the food was above average and the wines even more above when they started playing music so hard that I couldn't discuss this anymore with my dinner guests. These are people who run a good business and don't give a f2k what you think. There are days I can live with that.
