The Pompeii Oven Pizzeria

Reviewed By Chris Y

I am a PIZZA LOVER and we all know it's very hard to find GOOD pizza here in Columbia. I have loved Pompeii Oven's (formerly Noah's Antica Pizzeria in Irmo) pizza for many years. Truly great crust and innovative pizza toppings, fresh and yummy! BUT this place has been struggling in Chapin for quite awhile and I now know why. We went in this week for dinner and were greeted by a young man who barely had a pulse. No "greeting" just asked how many and led us to a table. NOT a great first impression. He needs some serious training guys! Our server was personable enough, nice and accommodating. But it went downhill from there. My husband ordered the meatball sandwich which came before the rest of our meal and had half a jar of mayo slapped on top of it. Gross! The chips served on the side seemed to be the bottom of the bag of Lay's (lots of small pieces spilled off the plate). I ordered the Salmon pizza, which came several minutes after my husband's sandwich and was luke warm, which means it must have been sitting waiting to be served to us for awhile. Mind you, there were only 2 other tables seated in the restaurant, so no excuses there. Also, the pizza was bland, I had to salt and pepper it several times to get some sort of flavor going on. The server never came back to check on us after the food was served, so had to flag her down for a request. Again, they weren't busy, so not sure what she was up to? Unfortunately, we left there a little disappointed. I am writing this in hopes management will see this and step up their game! I really want this place to improve things like they used to be and stay around for a long while!

Zorba Greek Resturant

My husband and I went to Zorba's on Saturday night. It was so slow. The waitress said that they had a huge catering order and that was why there was no bread and it was slow. I ordered chicken fingers. They are normally flat but these were round and burnt. The fries were good and my husband's salad was good. This is like the third or fourth time that we have been there and they were so slow. Please don't ignore the people in the restaurant all of the time just for "to go" orders. It gets old! Usually the food is very good but I will not advise getting the chicken fingers. Yuck!
