Had lunch here this week because the wife had eaten here before. It is located in a strip mall and desperately need to clean the entrance and front of restaurant. I almost wouldn't go in because of the looks on the outside. The food was very good and the service was top notch and quick. I had the shrimp veracruz. It had a lot of good sized shrimp with tomatoes, onions, and mushrooms. I wish they would use fresh mushrooms instead of canned but it was still good. I would eat here again

My son and I stopped in on a trip back from my home town in Southern Illinois. At first, when I pulled in the parking lot, I admit I was having second thoughts. The sign was in disarray, weeds growing up through cracks In the parking lot, etc, etc. I checked TA and there were only a few reviews and all of them were either good or excellent, so we went in. The inside is in really good shape; very clean and comfortable! Greeted very quickly by friendly staff and seated ourselves, with chips and salsa out immediately and a drink order taken and delivered in less than a couple minutes. We both had a lunch burrito with chicken and were very pleased with the flavor. Chips and salsa were really good after a few too. I was pleasantly surprised by La Cocina and I'd go back.

Never thought I'd be rating a Taco Bell. This restaurant was very clean & the employees were dedicated to doing their best! We noticed that they were preparing a very large order, and the waitress apologized for the 1 minute delay in taking our order. (It was a positive; telling me that the locals like this place.). The waitress & cooks prepared our food to our specific requests. The dining area clean, & stocked, & restrooms were clean & fresh. I find most TB's to be hiring "low level" employees, & the facility less than desirable. THIS ONE IS A WINNER. We WILL RETURN, when traveling in the Salem, IL !
I had the Kavanaugh Sancho. Kind of a burrito/taco salad cross. Ingredients were fresh. Portions adequate. Service excellent. Facility very clean. I was hoping for a Mexican greasy spoon where I had to order in Spanish. This is more a teenage hang out place that serves tacos instead of burgers. Still...I will come here again when I am craving a taco .
