This is easily one of my favorite little restaurants. It has the feel of a family owned Mexican Restaurant. The staff is all super friendly and happy to help. The chips and salsa arrive with the chips still piping hot and the salsa fresh and tasty. We have eaten here more than 15 times now and itâs always consistently good and super reasonable. The portions are large delicious authentic dishes that have a very reasonable cost. They offer Dos XX on tap and serve in the adult size of 1L. I can not say enough about how good this place has been for us.

The menu is large taking some time to read through. Lunch is served even on weekends which is usually not the case for many Mexican restaurants. Seafood is fresh cooked (most likely from frozen) BUT nothing is overcooked (I have had fish and shrimp). Vegetables are added to many dishes which I found refreshing. Dinner proportions are large.Two cautions: 1. I have been here several times and not all of the waiters speak extensive English. They are VERY courteous but you may have to restate a request. 2. Some dishes are listed as (for example) "three fish tacos" and that is what the dish is, nothing more. "Served with rice or beans" or "served with rice & beans" if it comes with the dish. If you want rice & beans and it is not listed then ask for it (of course for a charge). As I have noticed many people don't eat the side dishes anyway so this may not be a problem for you.

I had never eaten at a Hot Heads before, so I had nothing to compare it to. I thought the portions were a bit excessive, but when we got to the register, I understood how they managed to offer so much food. As far as the service goes, there were three employees working, and all three obviously got along well. We were included in the conversation, and made to feel extremely welcomed.I probably won't go back because of the high prices, but if someone were to give me a gift certificate I would use it.
