We used to frequent El Rodeo while living in the area. It was good food served in a taqueria style restaurant by very friendly people. This is definitely NOT your stylized, Americanized Mexican food. This is very similar to the food I eat when in Mexic each year. The prices are reasonable, the food plentiful and tasty. The décor is very basic, but that's not what you go here for! Go for the Food!!! But just Go!!!

Parking near from door. In old town, nuttin fancy. Several peeps in line, moved quickly, food menu above cashier was laid out with good descriptions, some items were not available. Friendly help. Our first time here so we were trying to decide. We had the fish tacos and Streetfries. OMG! ALL Fabuloso! This place is a winner! (please don't eat here! It will become a frenzy that everyone wants and then we can't get in...JK)WE WILL BE BACK! SOON!

El Arcoiris has been open since early 2018 and is a welcome addition to the local Mexican dining options in Galt. It sits adjacent to the Post Office on North Lincoln and has parking available. This is a clean and relatively quick taqueria-style restaurant that also provides numerous plate meals on its menu. You basically order that the counter and your food is delivered to your table if you are opting to eat-in -- or your receipt number is called in the event you are taking out. You have the option of selecting which type of numerous meats you wish to have inside the items that you order -- and the offerings are far-ranging with most of the familiar options you would find on a Mexican restaurant's menu -- street tacos; burritos, enchiladas; flautas; nachos; etc -- that can be ordered a la carte or on a combo plate. They do have a free salsa bar with fresh corn tortilla chips available to warm up your appetite while you wait for your order or to accompany your meal. Beer and wine are served, as well as soft drinks which are refillable. Two large flat-screen TVs usually carrying sports events are present for viewing. Lunchtime is very popular but there is a good amount of seating available. I recommend either the Super Burrito - with your choice of meats - that comes with beans, rice, cheese as well as lettuce, sour cream and guacamole -- it is a major handful and probably more than you should be able to eat. Also very good is the street taco platter -- and you can choose how many tacos you want on it -- four has been my max (so far...). Other items on the tables of other diners always look to be tasy and well-prepared -- and almost always totally consumed. The staff is friendly and helpful in answering any questions you may have when ordering. Try them out and support another worthy business making a go of it in Galt.
