Find out what Mexican restaurants to try in Davenport. Davenport is a vacation destination in north eastern Polk County that is popular because of its close proximity to the Walt Disney World theme park. While small in size, the town is experiencing rapid growth. Most Davenport tourists stay in this town and spend their time at the major theme parks outside Orlando. However, Davenport has its own attractions that should not be missed. Visit Lake Kissimmee State Park and partake in nature trails, horse trails, and boating activities. Play a round on one of Davenport’s two large golf courses: the Highlands Reserve Golf Club and the Ridgewood Lakes Golf & Country Club. You will have access to many restaurants near your vacation rental. Davenport offers a variety of fast food options and chains, as well as several great local establishments. The Davenport Cafe is perfect for lunch, as is Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe. Try the Bob Evans Restaurant for the best American cuisine, or visit Zen Asian Grill for Asian and Chinese foods. For dinner on a budget, visit The Shamrock Pub and Grille. Don’t head back too early—there are many great bars and pubs in Davenport. Try the Tuscana Tavern or The Pub for a relaxing drink. The 11th Street Bar & Grill is a pub and a restaurant combined, so be sure to check it out on nights when you want food and entertainment in one place. Other popular bars include the Happy Hollow Tavern and Boozies Bar & Grill. There are several large shopping centers right outside Davenport in Orlando, Tampa, and Kissimmee. Visit Posner Commons for stores such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, JCPenney, and more. Most of the shopping centers have food courts as well, so they’re a convenient way to spend the day away.

Many Mexican restaurants advertise that they feature "authentic mexican cuisine"; La Fiesta Mexicana is one of those restaurants, BUT, it REALLY does deliver the goods - and not only that, it exceeds expectations in the important categories: taste of the food, food portions, service, ambiance, parking convenience, and bathroom cleanliness. On top of the superlative grades, I add that the prices for entrees, appetizers and desserts are very reasonable; indeed, you will walk out very satisfied with your dining experience even if you had paid much more. The menu features most of what you expect to find: tacos, enchiladas, burritos, carnitas, skirt steaks, fajitas, refried beans, guacamole and salads, Seafood offerings feature tilapia dinners and several shrimp dishes. The shrimp cocktail is humongous: huge cup includes a dozen shrimps! The pork carnitas are the best I've had anywhere. When ordering dessert, you might consider sharing; for example, a sopapilla covers an entire dinner plate and is smothered in cream; the smallest dessert is an excellent home-made vanilla flan. Handicapped patrons on wheelchairs should have no difficulty navigating the wide aisles. The dining room is fairly large - I guess it accomodates about 120 diners. The walls are decorated with colorful paintings of scenes you might see in a Mexican town or countryside. I counted seven big-screen TV monitors. As you enter, there is an inviting bar. Good margaritas, bottled and on-tap beers. Mariachis play on certain days. This place is owner operated and his pride in his resturant shows. La Fiesta Mexicana beats any chain Mexican restaurant out there.

Having loved Chiliâs on previous visits, we were disappointed this time. Last visited in 2017 and things are nowhere near as good this time. Disinterested greeter. Said sheâd sort us a table then asked us to sit at a high table while we waited for it. She never came back to re-seat us and clearly never let a server know to take our order. It was at least 10 mins before drinks order was taken. Clearly not enough staff as many tables were covered in dirty dishes and didnât get cleaned while we were there. We got the 2 for $25 menu. Starter was fine (salad). Burger was ok, if a bit greasy. Fajitas, which have previously been lovely, tasted burned (stuck to the skillet and black bits were coming off) and the peppers were soggy they were so overdone. Daughter left all her quesadilla as it was so hard. There was such a long wait to be served and actually get the food that we ran out of time for the dessert included on the $25 menu. When we got the bill, weâd been charged the full price as we hadnât had the dessert! So had to wait again for them to box it up and redo the bill. The whole place looks like it could do with a good clean, plus some more staff so they have time to serve all the diners properly. Our server was lovely but had way too many tables and kept apologising for the delays. Wanted to love it but wouldnât recommend or return without some improvements. Hey there, we're incredibly sorry that you had a bad experience at this location. Thank you for taking the time to contact us about it so we can make things right with you. Please take a moment to follow-up with us here and provide any additional details at 1-800-983-4637 Thank you!

Looking for a good local Mexican restaurant we can rely on, so we decided to give this unassuming place a shot. We were greeted at the door by the manager, an engaging young man who walked us through the entire menu, outlining favorite dishes, sauces, etc. We stayed to enjoy dinner. We shared a meal of four enchiladas (one each of barbacoa, carnitas, chicken and cheese) smothered in a wonderful mole sauce. The meal came with rice, beans, pico and guacamole. We both loved the food!We also had the sweetest waitress ever! She was so helpful, and concerned that we enjoyed our meal. Following our meal, she was chatting with us. She asked if we had tried their flavored waters (we hadn't, as it was our first time AND we didn't know they had them available). She insisted we try a sample. She came back with a sample for each of us of EVERY VARIETY (7 or 8 total). These were so flavorful! She also told us (for future reference) that for dine-in customers, flavored water refills are free.We will definitely be back for more!!

Wife ordered the Double Chaupla. Really looked great on the photo on the wall. Looked great on internet add. (SCREENSHOT ATTACHED)As with most advertising what you see is not what you get. Second photo is what it really was. Nice pile of meat shown in ad was not there. Lettuce and filings did not make it to the top of the shell. Meat was maybe a 1/4 inch layer. Not for sure how we got the right angle in the shell. I ordered the regular Chicken. Likewise very little chicken. More salad fixings than anything. We both are fans of Taco Bell. It is a favorite of ours but more and more this is what we see happening. Lunch was 9.59. Think we will start looking else where. Pizza buffet at 4.99 just down the street.
