Okay, confession as I type this review I am now craving their chips n salsa and fajitas. Servings are huge. I have never had a bad experience or meal here. Whether I am there for a business lunch when near Soulard or there for date night the service is always great and the food superior to any other of its kind in St Louis. This is a must visit when in the downtown or Soulard area and you are visiting. And more than worth the drive in from the suburbs!!

Just outside of downtown Saint Louis in historic Soulard, Mission Taco Joint serves up Mexi-Cali street food, local beer and craft cocktails.
This would be an easy place to eat with a group having a variety of dietary preferences and restrictions. On a Thursday night around 630 there was a thirty minute wait but it went by fast. They do offer online ordering. The drinks were great and generous. Very affordable. Would definitely return.

I tried several types of tacos (brisket, pork belly, rib, and barbacoa), and all of them were magnificent. As a side note, I live in Texas, where tacos are ubiquitous; and even so, this place really wow-ed me. The kitchen was a little slow, but our server was very friendly. Bottom line, the food was worth the wait. I would definitely return!

Simple tacos to numerous Mex specialties. Family operated staff is friendly and very accommodating. Better than Chevy's and far from the pseudo-Mex of Taco Bell. For the gastroexplorer there isn't a bad item on the menu.
