I was in town visiting my son whose attending a nearby college and had a taste for Mexican. Saw the reviews here and decided this is the place. What a mistake! I love margaritas so I ordered one. First margarita I’ve ever had that was carbonated. Tasted more like lime 7up then tequila. I ordered their steak fajitas. They were 80% grilled onions and 20% beef (which was disgusting). Overall I must say the worst Mexican I’ve ever had. Really nothing about my meal I liked. The place was packed which is what the other reviews stated and the reason I came here. Usually a good sign. There are plenty of better options in the area! The bartender was nice enough but she never checked once on how my meal was and I had to flag her down to pay my bill and leave!

We wanted Mexican but didn't make a reservation for the Lynnfield location and couldn't get one. We were able to get one at the Burlington, MA location. We were disappointed in all aspects of this location. The food wasn't as tasty, the place was not full and therefore much louder. We were sitting on top of the table next to us. I totally missed the Lynnfield location ten minutes in and we won't make that mistake agin.

Start to say that I usually love this place....food is always high quality, staff is usually very good...Have noticed a down trend...staff changes and closing over a half hour early than posted is not cool....I was also not the only one disappointed...3 others walked up same time I did and we're just as put off by it.I get wanting to go home at the end of a long day....but this makes no sense.Whoever owns this place...what gives? You made a name in this town..You are usually busy at all times of day...I just don't get it.

Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant

Reviewed By John S

If you've been to Mexico you've eaten at an inexpensive place painted in bright colors, Mexican music, good service and good food. Ixtapa is that kind of place, well not that inexpensive, but the rest describes it well. The tables and booths are basic but comfortable. The Margaritas came quickly and my pork carnitas was excellent as was her sizzling chicken fajitas. As usual I finished mine and we took half of hers home with us. It's not a classy place. Silverware comes wrapped in a paper tissue, booth seats slightly worn, no table cloth and the margarita came in a simple glass not the fancy one shown in the menu but it was good. Our bill with two margaritas and no appetizer or desert came to $46 before tip. However it was Taco Tuesday night and with a drink we could have had $1 Tacos. So if you limited yourselves to a drink and two tacos you would have the dinner for two for less than $30 (on Tuesdays only).
