Reviews on Mexican food in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. A short Metro ride from Washington DC, Alexandria, Virginia is the perfect escape from the fast-paced capital. First settled in 1695, the city retains its colonial spirit, with cobblestone streets and historic buildings in the Old Town, Gadsby's Tavern, a restaurant serving food since 1770, and centers of learning like the Black History Museum. For a more contemporary side of Alexandria, wander the streets of the stylish Del Ray neighborhood, where local artists operate boutiques and studios.

My friend and I tried the grill platter on Saturday afternoon. The platter came with generous portions of red meat, sausages, chicken, ribs, rice, guacamole and tacos. It was quite a bit of food and more than enough for two people. The service was wonderful, they made us feel welcome. Meat was well grilled and seasoned, specially the Chorizos. It had a spicy bit to it. The location is on the street and parking was available.

Cozy taqueria for inventive Mexican street eats in snug, modern surrounds with a full bar.
Went here with adult children for Fatherâs Day weekend. Really loved the boutique drinks (Carlitoâs Way and the Once Upon a Time in Mexico). Really positive experience the individual tacos. (Land & sea, Dilly Dilly and the tostadas). My fussy offspring thought that this was the best guacamole that theyâd ever had. Iâm definitely returning when Iâm back in Old Town. Good place for a quick bite before going off with your date on an activity. The ladies donât have to worry about ordering more than they want.

One of my favorite go to places in Del Ray. The tacos are excellent. The burritos huge. The best margaritas in town. Just a bit too much citrus in the guacamole. But whoâs complaining. Thanks so much for the kind words! Iâll keep an eye on the lime juice in the guacamole. Let me know how weâre doing next time youâre in.

El Paso Mexican Restaurant with locations in Springfield, Woodbridge and two locations in Alexandria (Richmond Highway and Cooper Rd.) is dedicated to bringing fine authentic Mexican cuisine to the Washington metropolitan area. We feature homemade Mexican
We had to fight a lot of traffic to get to El Paso, but it was entirely worth it! We were seated immediately in this brightly decorated, fun restaurant full of Mexican ambiance. Our server, Lily, was charming--smiling, helpful, anxious that we enjoy our meal. My husband ordered a large cadillac margarita on the rocks; I got a medium blended--and that was the best margarita I have had in a really long time! In fact, I had stopped ordering margaritas in Mexican restaurants because they often tasted bitter and harsh, but this one was just right! Even my husband's was great, with just the right touch of orange and no harsh bite.We both ordered plates of 2 enchiladas rancheros topped with shredded chicken, served with rice and beans. This was an excellent meal--the best Mexican food I can remember! The shredded chicken was moist, tender, and very flavorful--it tasted wonderful with the cheese enchiladas. It was a generous plate of food, but we ate almost every bite. Lily checked on us a couple of times and so did the manager (?). We would highly recommend El Paso!
