The Garden Cafe serves Arabic/Mediterranean cuisine. Food is reasonably good. Waits can be a bit long. The Wednesday buffet is the best time to go, no waiting and in good weather the outdoor seating is pleasant. We went on a cold evening, and it was chilly indoors. I wore my coat while eating. Thatâs the last time Iâll eat there in winter. But BRING CASH. The cook bought the cafe several months ago and changed to an all cash policy. This information is not on the menu, and at the end of our meal the owner brought our bill, returned the credit card and told us it was cash only. She did not in any way acknowledge this might be an inconvenience, which was simply rude. They have an ATM, but neither I nor my dinner companion carry an ATM card. Luckily, we had enough cash between us to cover the bill. We havenât been back, and while I might return, there are several better choices within a 3 minute walk that DO take credit cards and the owners are more welcoming, so maybe not.

We had high hopes after seeing the reviews here.Although the plates of food were ample the quality wasnât there. One kebab of lamb was not freshly cooked and lukewarm, while the ground meat version was a little better. The rice wasnât very warm either. The salad was chunky, there wasnât anything Turkish about it.Service was amateurish but friendly and helpful. No liquor, wine or beer.

I had spinach and garlic soup and falafel lunch plate; both were tasty. Salad was fresh, dressing home-made, tahini dip pretty good, and pita was served hot. Service was excellent. Décor could be more evocative, although the wall art was nice; but the music was great.
