This âupmarketâ Italian restaurant is tucked away in a commercial precinct, not far from Brandon Park shopping centre. The best thing is: parking is not a problem! At least, not on the Saturday when we visited for a family birthday celebration. The white table cloths and napkins add a certain âje ne sais quoiâ to the place: as waiter extraordinarie, Nikolas, expertly rolls and folds your napkin during your absence from the table!Nikolas was so very patient with our table - especially a 90 year old mother who likes to make difficult for everyone these days! The menu is very different from ârun of the millâ Italian restaurants and is a little on the adventurous side. A case in point is the swordfish two of us ordered: it was rare in the middle. As someone who only has well done steak, hamburgers - and salmon - I was quite taken aback that it was not cooked through. Upon being informed this was how ppl like swordfish to be cooked - I said that I would have liked to have been asked how I would like it cooked. Nikolas agreed to take my comment on board. But, as a baby boomer Iâve been around a while(!) and have travelled quite a bit and have eaten at a lot of restaurants in Australia and overseas - and I have never encountered âmedium rareâ swordfish before. It also means the fish is quite âtoughâ to eat - but admittedly, this was a very thick, generous piece.Be warned: Sette Bello is no cheap Italian. Main courses cost around $38 - while steak was $46. The pasta dishes are only marginally cheaper. The sides are $9 each - but the French fries were the best Iâve tasted!Desserts are around $16 each - but I highly recommend the lemon ricotta-filled cannoli at $4.50 each. We ordered 2 between 4 ppl and had trouble finishing it although it was delicious.Coffee was great, too!The restaurant had a lovely ambience - and thatâs mainly because the wait staff are so welcome and obliging. This Saturday lunch time was very busy - with ppl coming at various times in the lunchtime period.

Dinner with friends on a Friday night was our first visit to Samsara and I regret that we have not dined here before. The interior of the restaurant was attractive; it was busy without feeling the restaurant was too crowded or noisy. The staff were very friendly and helpful - service was very good. The food was excellent. We had a Mezza Platter made up for 4 people and fried calamari as entrees. The platter was excellent. We all enjoyed our mains of lamb blackstrap, duck, barramundi and seafood tagine. The desserts were just as good - baklava and mahalabia. After 3 courses we were comfortably full. I definitely recommend and we will be back soon.

I m not a european (french or italian ) but will testify the food is good for the prices they charge. We had pizza, schnitzel veal, chicken parmagina and seafood combo with staters or desserts and the bill is about $27 per head. restaurant was near full on sat and if it was mediocre or bad, the numbers of patrons do not support that .Overall , satisfied we did not have to go downtown for our italian food craving this evening As for service, if you donât intend to tip, it will not warrant any complaint! if you ard in the USA, you have to at the least 10-15% for the attentiveness and smiles you seek !

Came here based on the good reviews but was sadly disappointed. I paid $15 for a lamb shish platter. Normally for less than this price in Abra Kebabra at Dandenong I get a huge plate of meat, salad and bread which leaves me completely stuffed. But here the serving was tiny!! They were very slow too. The guy looked like he was in slow motion. The place in the food court at the Glen has better food and better prices.A small portion of pita bread, meat and salad. I asked for tsatsiki and eggplant dip but only got the tsatsiki. The quality of food was OK but I have had a lot better and have never paid this much or got this little. The place is pretty dingy and on a cold winters night they left the door wide open so that it was freezing for everyone ordering or eating.
