There is some confusion about the address of this excellent restaurant -- in fact it is 906 W. Robertson Street, Brandon, FL 33511. But that is the only problem with this place -- the lasagna and chicken parmesan that my wife and I had were both superb, big portions, well cooked, tasty, and the servers were a joy to watch as they effortlessly served all tables quickly and efficiently, without hovering. We would certainly go back if we were in the area again.

We enjoy eating at Genghis when we are in town. The food is good and filling and itâs nice to personalize your dish to your own taste. My complaint is with the service, we visited during a slower part of the day and yet only saw our waitress a couple times. We could see her at the bar eating, but couldnât get her attention for anything like refills or soy.I hope this is not the case with everyone who works there and it was just our bad luck.I would recommend for the food, but if the service is that poor during a slow time I would avoid for sure if itâs busy.Hushmonkey, we regret to hear that you had this experience with us. This is a cafe' sort of place that serves lunch, brunch and has cooking classes and private events. It also has a retail area with fun and unusual cooking/kitchen items to purchase. It is owned by a chef from Italy but more than Italian food is served here. The menu item changes daily and there is only one item. No choices. Lunch is from 11 am - 2 pm Monday thru Friday. The tables are mismatched and the atmosphere is one of a village café or neighborhood restaurant in Southern Europe. It works - sort of décor Old World meets America mismatch. The day my friend and I went the lunch item was Chicken Tangine. I did not care what was for lunch as I knew it would be good (you can check the facebook page I am told or just call). I had taken two cooking classes with this chef in the past few years at another venue (Rolling Pin in Brandon - excellent cooking classes and retail store only), and trusted whatever was being dished up. The dish had lots of meat, fruit, nuts and a sauce to die for. No bread was served which was just as well for my waist and I really did want to lick my plate. Dessert is included and it was another plate licker. Orange and Olive Oil Cake. The slice is not huge - just right for after lunch, and it too was very European Torte-like. A sprinkling of powdered sugar was on the top. Wine, hot and cold tea, bottled or tap water is available. My itea was fresh, flavorful and tasty. Our meal was $11.95 and worth every penny. Wish all my meal were this wonderful.
I want to begin by saying that I've only had take out orders from this new Greek restaurant in Bloomingdale Square. With that said, just about everything that I've ordered so far has been very good. My favorites are the Chicken Shawarma and the rice pudding. The chicken is so tender, and all the contents that the chicken is smothered with inside the wrap all blend so well together. They serve it with this amazing garlic white sauce that totally enhances the flavor of the chicken. They also serve this as a skewered platter. I initially got the mixed grill to try all the meats. I thought the chicken was the better of the 3, so I think I'll stick with that until I try more menu items. The rice was also very good, as well as the rice pudding. It's really the best I've had since living in Brandon.I went back for a third time. This time I ordered the Grilled Fish platter. It was served with the same yummy garlic sauce. This is my new favorite menu item. I love the Greek seasoning used on this mild white fish. Will definitely order this again. I also appreciate that they cover the meat/fish with a larger grilled pita wrap to keep it warm (for take out orders).I've tried so many different Greek restaurants in this area. None of them come close to the tasty food I've had at Truly Greek. I'm looking forward to dining in at the restaurant soon so that I can try their mint iced tea and Greek coffee.
