Reviews on Latin food in Wahiawa, Hawaii, United States. Wahiawa (Hawaiian: Wahiawā) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Honolulu County, Hawaii, United States, on the island of Oahu. It is located in the Wahiawa District, on the plateau or "central valley" between the two volcanic mountains that comprise the island. In Hawaiian, wahi a wā means "place of noise", perhaps a reference to the fact that heavy surf on the North Shore could be heard from here, or to the sounds of the ancient military training exercises conducted on these plains. The population was 17,821 at the 2010 census.

This is a great place, worth the wait. We had the burrito trio and the three enchiladas. Both were excellent and reasonably priced. Just the right amount of heat. The chicken and pork enchiladas were excellent. The menu is extensive, from huevos, to tacos, to tortas, and burrito and enchiladas plates. Only on street parking and there's only six tables, so the wait can be extensive. There were several phone orders while we were there. Enjoy excellent Mexican food in Wahiawa town.

Cholos Homestyle Mexican Restaurant & Margarita Bar located in the North Shore Market Place. A wide variety of authentic Mexican dishes with generous portions and great prices. Daily specials include Fajitas, Chile Rellenos, fresh Fish Tacos and ice cold
I loved this place! I stayed in Hawaii for 2 weeks and came here twice! The food and service was excellent both times. The highlight of my visit were the frozen dragonfruit margaritas, SO GOOD! If you like Mexican and a fun environment definitely give this place a try! They also have a nice outdoor seating area which was really nice.

I had dinner at the Surf n Salsa my first night in Haleiwa after browsing the food truck options and am so glad we chose this place! The staff were super friendly, the food did take a while because they make it from scratch, but it was worth the wait. I loved the outdoor dining area in the back where you could watch chickens and roosters run around, and see colorful birds flying through the trees. I got the chimichanga which was incredible, and my boyfriend got the Surf n Turf burrito which I think he enjoyed because he kept asking if we could go back! Prices were good for Oahu and I would definitely eat there again!

This restaurant was recommended to us so we decided to try it out. My husband ordered the scallops, caribbean salad and spanish rice. Scallops were delicious, large and well cooked, salad was also really good. The rice was ok. I had the pork empanadas and the clams, both were specials that night. The empanadas were delicious, crispy and not greasy or heavy. The clams were awesome, large portion in a very flavourful broth. We both shared the coconut flan for dessert. Wow, should be illegal it was so good!! Highly recommend this restaurant, they don't serve alcohol but you can BYOB.
