What fun! Tasty, freshly hot, just a positive experience I never tire of. Staff is wonderful & friendly, always courteous, professional, and helpful. Small counter space and several cafe tables, most business is take out. When in Bremerton, I eat here, and nowhere else. My favorites are the Bremerton Burritos, a whole meal itself, and the #1 Combo of four Tacos (2 Pork & 2 Garlic Shrimp). However, donât Discount the joy of a #9, which brings forth a bountiful Yum (2 Tacos, a Papusa that is fantastic with pickled red cabbage, and a Paselito). Was your meal is consumed, you are filled to content! Enjoy!!

This restaurant had a great selection of food. I ordered the chicken fajitas which came out with a single serving that could feed two. The environment was comfortable/casual and the service was great. The food prices were average... not to high, but also not inexpensive. I personally would pay more for larger quantities and high quality food which is what I had here at this restaurant. Good for family and friends.

I like this place but haven't visited in a while. Happy to report that service is still friendly, portions are large, and drinks are cold. Order at the counter and they deliver to your table. Works pretty well. Good condiments. That said, the steak taco is not what it used to be. Meat was chopped up into tiny bits, very dry and not particularly tasty. If memory serves, they used use strips of marinated steak that were very juicy and delicious. Hope they return to whatever they did before.

After hearing of rave reviews of Taqueria El Rey I decided to give this food truck a try in my elusive search for the consistently really good Mexican food place in central and south Kitsap County, not that I've been to that many places.Taqueria El Rey is a food truck that parks in an empty lot below a used car dealership and, above that, a gym. It's got a covered area with tables and chairs next to it. That was both welcome yesterday as I was eating my lunch during a rainstorm. My test dish for any Mexican restaurant is carne asada since it's my favorite Mexican dish. I've noticed that in the local Mexican restaurants carne asada plates have skyrocketed in price--some costing about $19, with the portion of the grilled skirt steak shrinking in the other direction. No worries here. For $11 I got a serving of pounded-flat-and-grilled steak at least twice as large as the brick-and-mortar Mexican restaurants, and the presentation was just as nice. My order was ready in less than 10 minutes. There was the traditional roasted jalapeño (which the last restaurant omitted) which I love, and a grilled scallion. I would have liked a bit more seasoning in the meat but it was tasty and nicely but not overly chewy. The meal came with Mexican rice and refried beans and both were excellent. It also comes with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. All of this was ready within 5-10 minutes after I placed and paid for my order.I was the only one eating yesterday so both my wife and I have yet to check out the other dishes but the carne asada was a great start. I'm giving Taqueria El Rey five stars for putting out large portions of great-tasting food at bargain prices. If the food remains consistently -good this will likely become our go-to Mexican food place.
