Havana meets Miami in Hoboken! Serving traditional Cuban food at both locations. At the Uptown location serving over 40 Wines-by-the-Glass and a dozen Craft Beers on tap.
We've eaten breakfast at La Isla before and it never disappoints. This time around, I had the french toast with toasted almonds and powdered sugar. It was so good. My husband had the La Isla Egg Sandwich which he absolutely loved. Our daughter and son-in-law had omelets. And the coffee is the best! This time around, the service was slower than usual, but the food remains good enough to wait for! Prices are reasonable.

I had a business lunch at El Vez in May 2019. It still has excellent Mexican food. I had guacomole with tortilla chips and black bean enchilidas. The food was delicious. The service was very good.

Small location, big flavor. Do not be fooled by the size, notice the crowd (and there is always a crowd). I went to try there tacos on the advice of my boy and boy was I happy I did so. I tried and the Carnitas (Pork), Picadillo (Ground Beef), Chorizo (Sausage) & Pescado (Fish), All were tasty with the Carnitas & Chorizo having a wonderful spice. They also have Nopalitos (Cactus), Barbacoa (Lamb), Cecina (Salted Beef) & Bistec (Steak). Of course, they serve classics such as Tamales, Flautas, Tortas, Enchiladas, Burritas, Tostadas and more. You can have a quick bite, a small lunch or a sit down dinner and be happy. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
