Weâve been waiting for an opportunity to go to Besito. There is one more local, in West Islip, but it is smaller than the one in Huntington. It was worth the drive! We made a reservation, which is recommended. The drive took a little longer than anticipated, so I called, and they happily extended our reservation. We were seated right away. Fresh guacamole was made table-side. Entrees were beyond delicious!! My son is a fan of burritos, and coming here, they say itâs an interpretation of Mexican food. There were no burritos on the menu. He had to think outside the box. Very happy with the beef short ribs! A side of Mexican Street Corn and rice, and he was very happy!! I had the Mahi mahi with crab and blue corn chip crust. Delicious!! We ended with Tres Leches Cake with fresh whipped cream and berries. Delicious!!Que bueno! Thank you for the positive feedback, Tamis! Hope to have you back again soon! We are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed your experience at Besito. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!

Average Mexican food. Nothing outstanding. Portions were nice size except for the guacamole which at $6.95 per serving was inadequate. Our friends questioned the size since they had eaten there before. Immediately another portion arrived. I jokingly said it would appear on the bill, and sure enough it did? Language problem or ripoff. You decide.

Went back the Cafe Buenos Aires....What a truly a wonderful dining experience. We went to have dinner on a weekday evening. I had one of the special appetizers and the My wife had the sole and shrimp. Understand, my wife wanted cooked a certain way that WAS NOT on the menu. Guess what happened next???? The Chef said no problem and viola, a delicious filet of sole. Hugo, the owner, came over to asked about the meal and the wait staff, both Nicole and Chelsea were delightful. Cafe Buenos Aires will be a regular destination in the future.

This little restaurant is next to a Mavis Tire store on Jericho Turnpike and is a sister to another Cuban restaurant in Queens.I stopped in recently (having eaten here several times before) while my car was being fixed. The menu is extensive (although typeset in a font that is miniscule) and the service is very friendly.Being married to a Cuban and having visited Cuba, I am not certain what distinguishes 'Cuban' food from many other similar national cuisines although certain dishes (picadillo, pernil and frijoles negros come to mind) are clearly very Cuban. To my experience, Cuban preparation is generally straightforward, not heavily spiced and hearty. The food here is pretty good, fresh and well prepared. Although I am not a drinker, this is clearly a place where you can get a good mixed drink--I was served a complimentary Kahlua with my lunch and it was prepared beautifully with cream.I am not sure that you will leave here knowing what Cuban food is any more than 'American' food is easily describable beyond hamburgers and french fries. But it is worth stopping at this little outpost if you are in the mood for a good meal.
