Friendly, outgoing staff make everyone feel welcome to dine inside or on the patio. Colorful wall hangings support the Ecuadorian heritage driving the flavors that grace each dish of food.My companion chose the ENCOCADO ($14.00) with Mahi-mahi (shrimp is another option) stewed in a flavorful coconut sauce. It was served with rice and sweet plaintain. Rapturous about the sauce, he wiped up every bit with rice. I went for the SANDUCHE DE PERNIL ($9.00) A bollio roll well-stuffed with roasted pork made juicy by being topped with sweet plantain and aji criollo. Flavorful if a bit dry. This place is often packed with those waiting for a table, but waits pass quickly by and the reward for waiting is gratifying.

Our mission is to serve all our customers with great service and even better food! Handmade tortillas and homemade salsas and meats!
Great food and an extensive help-yourself salsa bar. Maya has great food and large portions at a great price. My favorite is the taco salad with either veggie (fajita + potato), spicy chicken, or pork. The spicy chicken is slow cooked, juicy, tender, perfect. A meal can be had for about $10 and the portions certainly allow for leftovers. Two people could easily split an entree for a lighter meal. This is the first place I have tried beef tongue (lengua). It is really tender and quite tasty.I have done both the counter service and sit down. There is also a very extensive brunch that I have looked over but never ordered. I think it is around $16 but had a ton of awesome looking dishes. The best thing about Maya is the salsa bar. It is help yourself and contains sour cream, jalepeno, onion, radish, and an array salsas. Maya is my favorite Mexican food in Minnneapolis, and favorite restaurant in northeast MPLS.

We found their food truck last night on accident. Wow we had tacos served Mexican or American style for 3 dollars each. Nachos and burritos under 10.00. So many meat choices and you can customize! the workers were friendly and fantastic. We are going to their restaurant very soon a group of 6 of us and everyone loved the food. Worth a drive and a stop here!!!

This is a nondescript corner of a strip mall on Central Avenue. It looks like not-too-amazing, but then you get inside! Friendly welcoming place, menu is about 8 pages with all sorts of opportunities for meat and some veggie classics, such as fajitas, beans and rice, veg burritos. They have a full bar, the drinks are big. The 9 y.o. girl was with us and the waitress changed the TV from brutal bare knuckle punching channel to animal rescue channel. I was surprised at how much larger it is than it looks like from the front. It was pretty empty when we were there, maybe 20 customers, but the back could accommodate close to 150-200 people in the back (obviously plan ahead with the manager there if you were going to throw a huge party there) . Bathrooms were all new and fully accessible, place for nursing too.
