The population was 23,039 at the 2010 census. Chantilly is named after an early-19th-century mansion and farm, which in turn took the name of an 18th-century plantation that was located in Westmoreland County, Virginia. The name "Chantilly" originated in France with the Château de Chantilly, about 25 miles north of Paris.

Traditional Mexican fare offered backed by generous-sized portions! Picante! The Real Taco is also the spot to be on Friday nights, when our tequila lounge continues to be transformed into a salsa dance party starting at 8:30!
After doing a airport pickup were were looking for a place that was within reasonable distance from Dulles. The TA phone app listed Picante as #6 in the area and being it was only about 5 minutes down 28, we figured we would give it a try. Pulling into the parking lot in the strip mall where the restaurant is located we almost waved off as it had the initial appearance of being more of a fast food location. We decided to investigate further and quickly found out that this was not the case and in fact is a large, comfortable, sit-down establishment with a warm and inviting decor. There are no booths here but plenty of tables and our friendly and helpful server Tati had us seated at a table near the front within moments of entering. She quickly returned with the customary bowl of chips and salsa but a slight warning here: the chips while warm and very good were a bit heavier and filled us up a bit more than usual. We still had two bowls but paid for it later.Our main dishes consisted of two orders of Pollo & Mole (1 with corn tortillas and one with flour), and the shrimp fajitas. To be sure the mole plates were MASSIVE and I could not finish mine which is very unusual. The dishes were good but not as sweet and spicy as I have had elsewhere and prefer. The sizzling shrimp fajita platter was very good indeed and something I would order again if dining here for a second time. The cost of the meal was on par for the location and amount and quality of food served. I could see Picanteâs being a regular post travel stop for us in the future. The place offers all the traditional Peruvian food your heart wishes for...the different dishes are mostly very very good but there where huge variations - from the perfect yuca with huancaina sauce to a less than average aji de gallina. The lomo saltado was excellent, and so was the causa. The ceviche, however, was too bitter. The highlight were the fresh churros with dulce de leche...a pity we had so much to eat upfront as I would have loved t eat them with icecream...A huge minus are the drinks: they only offer Cristal (one of the Peruvian beer brands...the not so good one), chicks morada is not fresh but bottled, and the don't offer diet Inca Kola...big boooooh. Service is very attentive and extra wishes were accommodated with a friendly smile. Decor is simple but good with the right amount of Peruvian feeling.

We went because the line is always long and heard the pupusas were good. Tried all the pupusas- our favorite was the bean and cheese. Also got the Grilled Shrimp in tomato sauce which was fantastic and a huge plate of food. Not a fancy place by any means but really yummy!

At last a good and authentic Peruvian restaurant near Fairfax City, in the city of Chantilly!Peru 703 was awesome. They have excellent Pisco Sours (the national drink of Peru) and typical Peruvian drinks, such as Inka Kola, Chicha Morada, and Maracuya juice.The ambiance was very nice, casual and friendly, with Peruvian decorations. We loved that they were playing a diversity of Peruvian and South American music. Our waiter, Enrique, was very courteous and helpful. We noticed that all the waiters were Peruvian, which made the restaurant even more authentic.As appetizers, we tried the âAnticuchosâ (grilled meat pieces on skewers) and they were delicious. The âPapa a la Huancainaâ (cooked potatoes and topped with a cheese and Peruvian peppers cream) and the âPapa Rellenaâ (a deep fried stuffed potatoe pastry) and they were very well prepared too. They all came with hot Peruvian pepper sauces, very spicy and tasty as in Peru.As main dishes we had the âTallarinesâ (noodles); the âLomo Saltadoâ (Filet Minon sautéed with onions, tomatoes, and spices); the âChupe de Camaronesâ (a typical Peruvian shrimp chowder) and everything was very tasty and nicely presented. Very important for us, the food was not too greasy nor salty, just very flavorful.We didnât get to try the desserts because all the food was so good, that we ate too much this time. But we are definitely going back. There are several other authentic dishes we want to try, and also we want to try the desserts sometime.We recommend this new restaurant. If they keep the good quality and flavor, we will be customers for many years to come.
